On Monday night our man Aron Phillips took off on a plane from JFK to Paris, France, embedded with the 2K Sports Preseason All-American Team. AP will be covering every part of the trip as the top high school players in America do battle in the World Basketball Tournament in the city of Douai this week.
AP will be bringing you all the game coverage on HighSchoolHoop.com, but first thing’s first: Tristan Thompson and Jared Sullinger break down the differences between McDonald’s in France and the U.S….

Out of the blue, Tim Floyd submitted a letter to the University of Southern California, saying that he no longer could “offer the level of enthusiasm to my duties that is deserved by the university, my coaching staff, my players, their families, and the supporters of Southern Cal.” But who really thinks that’s the reason that a coach just forfeits his job with three years left on his deal, especially when there are looming allegations of NCAA violations? Good news for the Orlando Magic: Winning last night’s Game 3 puts you right back in the NBA Finals, and with two more home games in a row, in position to stretch this thing to six or seven games and pull off an upset. Bad news: You played about as flawless a game as possible (at least offensively) and still just barely got the W … Orlando came out scorching in the first quarter, hitting like 75 percent of their shots, but were still mostly playing from behind due to Kobe Bryant single-handedly destroying their defense. In a relatively minor deal that actually helps both teams involved, the Toronto Raptors have reportedly traded Jason Kapono to the Sixers for Reggie Evans. The Raptors have plenty of shooters on their roster but zero toughness, especially in the paint, so Evans will come in and do his thing in (presumably) limited minutes. Read More »

The last time we saw Goodman League commissioner Miles Rawls, he was heckling President Obama. Wearing a $15 Obama tee shirt, Rawls sat two rows behind the leader of the free world at the Wizards/Bulls game, where the two men exchanged some friendly trash talk throughout their February 27th meeting. Rawls is a well-known fun-loving heckler at the Verizon Center.
But that’s not his homecourt. He’s the commissioner of The Goodman League presented by Nike Basketball and DTLR at Barry Farms in Southeast DC, where he helped to kick off the “Season of Change: Summer 2009″ last night. Read More »

Today over on BleacherReport.com, they have a ranking of the 10 most interesting NBA trade rumors of the last 15 years. There’s definitely some good stuff on there: Clyde Drexler for Harold Miner? A deal that would have sent Scottie Pippen to the Celtics so that the Bulls could then draft Tracy McGrady? Read More »

Ricky Rubio is coming to the U.S. within the next couple of days to work out for the top lottery teams. Maybe the Celtics should get him up to Beantown for a private workout too. Though they don’t have a first-round pick to offer, there are rumblings that Boston is considering a Draft-changing trade into the No. 2 spot.
There aren’t any precise details on Boston’s rumored offer to Memphis right now, but they’d have to put up some established player to make this deal work. How far would they be willing to go? Read More »
