I always wondered what would happen when Michael Jordan‘s oldest son, University of Illinois sophomore Jeff Jordan, finished his college career and had a chance to play pro ball.
Unless the Bulls or Bobcats bailed him out with a late second round pick in the 2011 Draft, he wasn’t going straight to the NBA. He’d probably get a nepotistic spot on somebody’s summer-league squad, but what about after that? Read More »
There won’t be any tears shed over this goodbye. ESPN’s Marc Stein is reporting that Don Nelson‘s dreams came true, and Jamal Crawford is being shipped out of town in exchange for Speedy Claxton and Acie Law IV.

With respect to the Kobe/LeBron (and Wade) hype and North Carolina returning to the top of the college game, 2009 has really been the year of the point guard.
Chris Paul, Deron Williams, Tony Parker and Chauncey Billups are all at the top of their game. Steve Nash is still a threat to drop 25 points or 15 dimes on any given night, while Jason Kidd is still a threat to rack up a triple-double. Devin Harris had his breakthrough season. Read More »
I had the privilege – and it definitely was a privilege – of watching Tyreke Evans work out in Minnesota along with our boy Jonny Flynn, Brandon Jennings, Ty Lawson, Jrue Holiday and Jeff Teague. I was a fan of ‘Reke’s at Memphis, particularly after President Obama endorsed his game when making NCAA tourney predictions. But it wasn’t until I watched him have his way going to the basket during that workout that I realized just how unique his talent is.

I just saw a commercial on NBA TV for GWRAPS, which are … well, here’s the description on the website:

If you’re just watching the games, you’ve got to be wondering why on Earth the Celtics are even considering trading Rajon Rondo. The 23-year-old already has one championship ring as Boston’s starting point guard, and in this year’s playoff run, showed his potential as a true franchise player, becoming a triple-double machine and someone who can take over a game when needed.
So why do you keep hearing that the Celtics are offering Rondo in trades and that they aren’t exactly eager to sign him to a long-term extension this summer? Read More »
All day today and tomorrow, all of the players in town for the NBA Draft will be rolling through the Draft Suite we’ve put together with Levi’s in the penthouse of the players’ hotel in Times Square. Guys will be coming through to eat, drink, get haircuts (like DeMar DeRozan is doing in the photo), and play video games in the full arcade we put together. We will be posting photos and videos here on dimemag.com throughout the next two days and will be Twittering to let you know who is stopping through. You can follow us on Twitter HERE. The players themselves will be checking in from our Twitter feed as well at @DIMEMag so stick with us …
Although chances are you’ve never heard of Jonas Jerebko, there’s a good chance he could be picked in the first round of Thursday’s NBA Draft. Actually, when the 6-9 Swedish native travels to NYC, this won’t be the first time he’s had New York on his mind. Four years ago, Jerebko had signed on to play for the University at Buffalo (as both his dad and uncle were outstanding high school basketball players in western New York) before deciding to stay in Europe and play pro.
