Update: Nike “Puppets 4 Rings” T-Shirts In Hot Demand

We realize in the sneaker game that people camp out for kicks. But never have I ever witnesses such a fervor for a t-shirt. Since we announced that we were going to have a bunch in the office sometime this week and wanted to share the wealth with our readers, our phones have been ringing off the hooks.
One girl from California just called to check in and then e-mailed me this:
I just spoke with you about 15 minutes ago. I don’t mean to be a bother, (too late huh?) but I wanted to make sure I gave you all the correct pertinent information to be added into the contest for the limited edition Nike Puppets 4 Rings and Carpe Diem T-Shirts Giveaway. I have made a million and 1 phone calls, as I am sure everyone else has trying to get their hands on these shirts. Foot Locker House of Hoops is sold out. Niketown doesn’t have any. The Nike customer service personnel show that there is “no availably” on these shirts. I know it’s a contest and the shirts aren’t going to the biggest fan or who has the greatest story. I have as much a chance as anyone else so please cross your fingers for me.
Apparently the shirt was available on the Lakers Official Online Store, but due to overwhelming demand has already sold out. Once we get ours, we will be running some sort of giveaway contest so don’t you worry. Just make sure to check back with us to find out how you can get yours…

when it is all said & done, it’s just a shirt….man, more important things can be done then making “a million & one phone calls” for a t-shirt…Nike sees the demand & the make more….”Special Edition” is only about the time frame & believing the hype.
No wonder our economy is going to crap
Plus, QQ is waiting for his Larry Bird edition…ha!

This shirt is awesome!! I was lucky enough to be able to buy a few from niketown @ south coast plaza before they sold out. All they had left yesterday ( around 5 pm ) was XXL and XXXL. I’m sure they are sold out of these sizes by now too!

I’d write an article for Dime Magazine from a die-hard Laker fan’s perspective. I’d cronicle the first Lakers vs. Celtics game that I went to as kid in the Los Angeles Sports Arena to working at the Fabulous Forum to just being a huge fan at Staples Center. In the article, I’d talk about what it’s like being a life long Laker’s fan, all the ups and downs living in Los Angeles. I’d mention working at the Fabulous Forum during the Kareem Abdul Jabbar era and what a blast it was working my way through high school and college. It would be a very different article for Dime Magazine, but one that isn’t told very often, but significant because we just won our 15th World Championship! Thanks Dime Magazine for thinking about the fans……….
