Favorite draft moments of the year 1996.

-the steal the lakers received in kobe for vlade which happened a bit later.

-marbury crying and not addressing craig sager’s questions. ” I waited 20 long years…imma get my momma that green house”

-had to be walter mccarty singing during his interview with craig sager. And Craig with the WTF face.

-Samaki walkers suit in 96 draft ( playas club revisited)

-the pop(ovation) john wallace received from the crowd that nite.

-nash, stojakovic, and ilgauskas’ hairdo at the time.

…and last but not least Priest Lauderdale starting the trend of guys crashing the draft party out of the stands because they were not invited to the green room. Classic!

That is how it went down, but it happened pretty quickly if I remember correctly. KVH was making a big deal about how he didn’t want to play in Philly/with Iverson heading into the Draft so they dealt him right away for Thomas.

…when the Raptors and GS picked Antawn Jamison and Vince 4th and 5th then switched. The Raptors fleeced GS on that trade with some cash to boot going T.O.’s way. Financially the Raps made more money out of Vince than Jamison for GS. And the trade also rooted the Raptors here in Canaduh and in a profitable market (T.O. is a Top 5 market in North America).

I remember skipping my part time job fron HS just to see Vince whenevr they are playing.

My favorite part is when they do the interviews after each player gets drafted. I know I shouldn’t be, but year after year I’m shocked at how poor of a grasp of English these cats have, especially the ones coming from college.
