Top 50 Sneaker Stores: MAJOR (#47)

MAJOR

Just like an art collector scouring the globe for a masterpiece, sole searching sneaker fiends will go to great lengths to find an exclusive pair of kicks. Back in Dime #25 (August 2006), we put together a list of the Top 25 Sneaker Stores when the kick game had never been bigger. A Portland Trail Blazers Rumor That Actually Makes Sense

Andre Miller

Since being spurned at the 11th hour by Hedo Turkoglu, the Blazers have been running around basically trying to throw their money they had budgeted for Hedo at anybody who will take it … even if they don’t necessarily need them. Read More »

Top 10 power forwards of the ’08-09 season

Gasol Brother

Again, this is NOT a traditional “best players” list. If you see Tyler Hansbrough ahead of Tim Duncan here, I’m NOT saying the rookie is better than the Hall of Famer. Instead, I’m looking at the whole picture: Who had an overall better season? Who made the biggest impact on their level? Who put the biggest stamp on the entire game of basketball? Who made this season his own? With that, here are my Top 10 — not “10 best” — power forwards from the ‘08-09 season. Read More »

Team USA looking for anybody to play; Yao goes under the knife

USA 1 & 1A

Does anybody want to play for Team USA anymore? The list of guys who have dropped out of this year’s USA Basketball mini-camp (which starts tomorrow) was already getting long — Brandon Roy, David Lee, David West, Big Baby Davis, Andrew Bynum and LaMarcus Aldridge among them — and then yesterday a couple more confirmed they won’t be participating: Read More »

The NBA’s next must-watch team … The Bucks?

Michael Redd

For the last three-plus years, for six months straight during every NBA season, I watch at least 2-3 games every single night just for work fun. Over that time, one of the teams I’ve always had a hard time watching is the Bucks. Like usual, it’s more aesthetic than anything: Ugly uniforms, ugly court, zombie fans, generally awful team — aside from the occasional Michael Redd 40-point outburst, the Bucks could cease to exist (or move to Seattle) and I really wouldn’t mind.

But going into next season, I get the feeling the Bucks could reach “appointment viewing” status on my League Pass schedule. Read More »
