Breaking News: Ricky Rubio Returning to Spain

Ricky Rubio

And there you have it. If a Spanish media outlet’s report this morning is accurate, Ricky Rubio has decided to stay in Spain for two years to finish his contract with DKV Joventut instead of trying to play in the NBA with the T-Wolves (or whatever team would have traded for him). Read More »

Ricky Rubio Is Playing Out of His League

Isn’t Gillette being a bit presumptuous here? Their three flagship promoters – Derek Jeter, Roger Federer and Tiger Woods – are three of the greatest to ever play their respective sports. (Save it, Jeter-haters.) But now there’s a fourth guy in the mix: Ricky Rubio.

Orlando: The post-Finals makeover

Dwight Howard

Although the ‘09 NBA free agent class isn’t as stacked as in years past — not to mention the League is being more thrifty than ever due to the slumping economy — teams still have holes they want to plug, and players have moves they want to make. Here, we break down all 30 NBA teams’ free agent strategy… Read More »

“With The 31st Pick…”

Haywoode Workman

Only a few second-rounders from the 2009 NBA Draft justify the “slept-on” label. DeJuan Blair slipped to the Spurs at pick No. 37 (of course), and Outback trailblazer Patty Mills plummeted all the way to No. 55 before getting seized by the Trail Blazers (of course), and also respect to Sam Young and Jermaine Taylor.

Ron Artest: Goodbye, Houston

Ron Artest

If we believed that “Real_Ron_Artest” was the Tru Warier himself, then we’d be posting that he’s leaving Houston for Harlem to play for the Globetrotters.

“Yo, big announcement coming soon,” he tweeted late last night. “I’m signing with the…Globetrotters. I can’t wait to throw a bucket of confetti in ya grandma’s face.” Read More »

Toronto Raptors Not Messing Around

Hedo

Give Bryan Colangelo and the Toronto Raptors franchise some credit – after a miserably disappointing 2008-’09 season, they appear determined to shake up and improve their roster by any means necessary, even if it means potentially taking on huge free agent contracts and/or dealing Chris Bosh. We Reminisce: Allen Iverson Drops 54 On The Raptors

In response to somebody’s comment yesterday that no one has even mentioned Allen Iverson‘s name in the early going of free agency, I sought out highlights from the Sixers playoffs series with the Raptors back in 2001.
