“Tape-Gate” Has Gotten Completely Out of Hand
Sure-fire ways to get a grown man’s blood pressure through the roof: (3) Hearing news that there’s a video of Megan Fox washing the Ferrari of Transformers director, Michael Bay. (2) Not being able to see such video. (1) Skip Bayless talking out of his ass about LeBron.
I’m actually upset at Jemele Hill. Instead of providing the voice of reason, she feeds into the quasi-witch hunt created by Bayless, Jay Crawford and the rest of ESPN First Take.

That’s flat-out dumb.
He made a poor snap judgment by having a Nike rep eat the tape, thinking that would save him from being on ESPN’s 1st and 10 for a week for getting crammed on. If you were one of the biggest stars in the world, you might have done the same thing. That backfired. But that doesn’t mean he’s a bad dude like Bayless implies.

He deserves to be defended from groundless attacks like that.
When did he cause his team to lose focus? You say it wasn’t the offseason or the preseason? So his “CHILD” games screwed up Cleveland while they were recording the League’s best regular season record? Riiiiight.
This dude led a team of nobodies to the Eastern Conference Finals, where his coach pulled the greatest choke job in recent memory. If Cleveland had Tony DiLeo coaching instead of Mike Brown, they would have swept the Magic. Brown INSISTED on playing an idiotic shape-shifting zone instead of just d’ing up man-to-man. Philly gave Orlando a really tough time in the first round by playing them straight up man.
But Brown had his guys running from one side of the court to the other to close out on shooters. You couldn’t have picked a worse defense to run against the Magic. Orlando put up 103.6 points per game against Cleveland after putting up 96.3 vs. Philly and 96 vs. Boston.
That’s why Cleveland lost in the playoffs. They played horrendous defense, not because LeBron put up the following numbers:
35.3 ppg, 51% FG, 9.1 rpg, 7.3 apg, 2.7 TOpg, 1.6 spg

but bron had the best stats , record and was the mvp.
i think nash deserved one and dirks was the mvp no they werent the best players in the league those seasons but you cant say they didnt deserve them.

Take a step back and realize what is “out of hand” about this LeBron getting dunked on situation. As per my post, the issue is that people like Skip Bayless and others are using it as a platform to make some sort of character insult.
You constantly bringing it up makes you no different from ESPN in the sense of sensationalizing this story.
That’s just wrong. Mentioning something in a total of 4 posts over the course of a 3-day span doesn’t sensationalize it. We’ve had 40 posts in that time. So the notion that we’re “covering it to death” is plain wrong. 10% of our articles during this span have touched on this issue, while it’s being broadcast on every single ESPN program.
Plus, the content of ESPN’s programming on this subject has been highly critical. The first real opinion that any of our writers shared regarding this subject was in this post, where I wrote that First Take’s toxic reaction was over-the-line.

yea ian they are runners up because u got media voting?The years that I said Kobe should’ve got that award were also backed by interviews from top players in the L those years including Shaq. No one besides these players teammates ever respected them as MVP’s and damn sure not Nash getting that award two years in a row…there’s no way that happens if players and coaches vote on MVP.
