The Greatest Moment in Magic Johnson’s Life

We’ve had the Michael Jackson memorial playing in the office all day – some amazing performances and heartfelt speeches for the King of Pop. A little while ago, Kobe and Magic Johnson came on stage to represent Michael’s impact in the world of sports. Kobe honored the late, great artist with a pretty simple speech. But Magic went deeper, recounting some stories from their time spent together.

“I was scared to death to go over to his house, because he was my idol. He was everything to me. The chef came out and asked, ‘What would you like?’ I said, ‘Some grilled chicken.’ Then we began to talk about the [music] video [Remember the Time] and what he wanted me to do. The chef brought me out the grilled chicken. But he brought Michael out a bucket of Kentucky Fried Chicken. I went crazy, like, ‘Wait a minute. Michael, you eat Kentucky Fried Chicken? That made my day. That was the greatest moment of my life.”

What? OK, Magic, great story. But that was the greatest moment of your life?! Where does hitting a hook shot to beat the Celtics in Game 4 of the ’87 Finals rank then? Can that be number two? Or was that when he found out that Michael drank Heineken?

Michael Jackson, the greatest pedo in history. His corpse managed to diddle 4 kids at this funeral function…that seals his place in the diddlin history of sick pedos.

  2. SWAT says:

    wow thts foul, control.

  3. Joshua says:

SHUT THE FUCK UP control i wish you could say that in my face i would fuck you up and i am not even a super michael fan

but the man just died and people are paying tribute and you are talking shit FUCK YOU

  4. Employee#7 says:

Control is right. Child molester. We should be celebrating the fact that another celebrity who bought himself an inoccent verdict is dead.

  5. control says:

    Joshua,

I’d say that shit right to your face right before I made you eat some of my taint. You’d thank me for it, that’s how good my taint tastes, son.

They should have buried him in a blue box, guy was 90% plastic, so they should recycle that ass.

As a parent of a young child, I won’t feel safe until his corpse is buried. Just cause the mother fucker was VERY talented musically (probably one of the most talented in a generation) doesn’t give him a free pass to diddle lil’ boys. There’s nothing that should give anyone a free pass to be a child predator.

  6. iamrich says:

maybe you will be dead next. then people will talk about all the wrong shit you did in your life, only difference is nobody outside your family would give a shit. Be careful how you talk.

  7. control says:

They should have had Chris Hanson give the Eulogy…

  8. Joshua says:

i don’t think you could take me control;) and im not kiddin

i never said that he got a free pass but what you said was just over the limit give guy a little peace its a day to celebrate waht he did not for some stupid nerd behind his pc to say some shit about himjust leave him be in peace

  9. sxm says:

Control….well said. If MJ had molested another boy 2 weeks ago everyone would be singing a diiferent song.

  10. control says:

    Joshua,

I don’t need to ‘take you’ anywhere. I’d just sit your ass down and let you eat my taint. You’d look like Rick Ross the Boss w/ how much shit I’d leave on your face. As far as size, that don’t mean shit…but I’m not a small guy by any means fool.

I doubt anything I could say behind my PC will affect him now, I sure as fuck ain’t going to hurt his feelings, he’s fucking dead, he’ll get over it.

  11. SHUT THE PHUCK UP says:

For those calling MJ a molester or pedophile, REMEMBER…The parents of the children accepted money over punishment…If he did what he was alleged to have done to your family member would you take money over punishment? Think about their actions and not his…The parents PIMPED their kids out for the M-O-N-E-Y!

  12. -SEIZ- says:

What ever happened to being innocent till proven guilty?? Dude was never convicted of anything.. If he was convicted it would be another story..

  13. control says:

    SHUT THE PHUCK UP,

You are 100% right, those paernts are as much responsible as he is…

    SEIZ,

Innocent people usually don’t pay in the 8 figures to make shit go away. Would you drop 8 figs because you are innocent? I sure as fuck wouldn’t…

  14. Phillyfanatic says:

How about Magic saying that MJ made him a better PG? What!??!? AND LBJ thanking the Jackson’s for their contributions to basketball during the BET awards??? I love celebrities….

Control…I’m with you man, even though he was never “convicted”, for the last 17 years, he’d been in and out of court for the same issues! The man was, no is, the greatest talent of our generation, but come on people, he was severely flawed and should not be recognized for ONLY his accomplishments!

  15. Joshua says:

    control

its not about size let’s say i can fight leave it at that plus i got a little size too;)

  17. mules says:

So a rapist and an AIDS patient are giving eulogies for the kid-toucher…sounds like the start of a bad joke.

  18. SHUT THE PHUCK UP says:

IF YOU HATE HIM SO MUCH WHY THE PHUCK ARE YOU WATCHING….ARE YOU HOPING TO SEE SOME KIDS…..BITCHES!!

  19. control says:

    Joshua,

Since we are fucking around on the internet, the only fighting skill that matters is that of wit. I’d rape you like you were one of MJ’s special friends in this battleground, my friend.

    Mules,

Fucking hilarious, I’d say it’s the start of a pretty damn good joke though.

  20. Joshua says:

you are right where fuckin on the internet let’s make it real let me know where you live i will come around then we will see if you still have big mouth like that :)

    fat boy;)

  21. control says:

    Joshua,

Metro Detroit son. If you want to find me, hit up the Joe Dumars Fieldhouse on Mound, I’ll be easy to find, probably the tallest guy there, white, and I’ll wear a “only fags are named Joshua” tshirt.

  22. Joshua says:

    control

hahaha i use my own name not some pseudonym plus is bet you are lying the only true thing you said is that you are from detriot it’s more likely that you are just some fat fuck:) saying shit behind his screen where he has a sense of security

  23. Scott says:

Wow, it’d be cool if Dime wiped this thread clean of the current comments, this isn’t the place or time for any of that. A little tact goes a long way.

  24. control says:

    Joshua,

It also says a lot about a person based on which ideals they would fight for. You would fight me (and probably get tossed a beat down) over the tarnished reputation of a known child molester.

Think about what that says of you as a person, that you condone and are willing to fight (and maybe die) for diddlers. Your mom would be proud I’m sure…

  25. Joshua says:

your right scott i apologize for myself

i shouldn’t get railed up by some fatty douche bag that got no tact

i will stop thanks for the wake up call

  26. NTstateOFmind says:

uh oh …the internet gangstas are cruisin ’round the block folks!

  27. Joshua says:

last one die you really don’t know who you talkin to i dont think you fought allot outside of world of warcraft

and i know you are talkin shit becasue i got you with the fat jokes haha i know you are some lazy fatty

but enough this is it lets talk basketball thats where this site is for

  28. JJ Hickson says:

Why did kobe get to make a speech on stage?

What connection does he really have with Michael Jackson?

This is suppose to be a memorial for a person that just passed away. Its not an opportunity for media spotlight or to show who is who in the media to get an invite. The people that handle this should’ve known better. Get the people that really knew Michael to speak. Not some random dude just because he is a star athlete.

I understand Magic has a real history with Michael… but kobe…. man go seek the limelight somewhere else.

  29. Dagomar says:

This comments section is pathetic. Great speech by another MJ, who’s been plenty courageous himself in dealing with HIV.

  30. nerditry says:

Everybody is tough on the internet.

  31. QQ says:

@5 & 10 (Control) – The comments about making Joshua “Eat your Taint” – Hilarious. What a dumb ass fucker Joshua is! LOL!!!

@ Joshua – You suck at this shit buddy. Your posts are gayer than Jackson touching little boy bootyhole.

Love his music, but put dat FREAK in a Recycling BIN!

    LMFAO!

  32. Steve A says:

Dime—-Monitor all that garbage above better….

  33. bixby says:

personally, i cant wait for this crap to be over. is this really the only news the last 7 days?

i liked some of his music and yes, he was a great dancer. but its dancing, like i really care.

but lets also not forget he made alot of crap music as well. and was really pretty wierd for the last half of his life. pedo, med junkie, cosmetic freak, etc.

i think what really irks me is all the grief-stricken morons coming out of the woodwork over this. get a life. that includes you ron ron!

  34. SWAT says:

    man yall are trippin…nuff said.

  35. Joshua says:

there is one thing gayer qq and thats your mom;)

  36. sh!tfaced says:

    @26 LOOOOOOOOOOL! LMFAO

  37. calvin brodus says:

    @mules 17

too mufucking funny. im telling that one to the other dudes in the office.

that whole cerimony is lala land doing there lala thing.

  38. sh!tfaced says:

@17 hah! just realized that if artest stood there with magic and kobe, he’d look like a damn saint.

magic won 5 nba titles, an ncaa championship,an olympic gold medal, made one of the greatest plays in history and lived the dream on way to becoming a hoops legend. a winner at everything including the battle against HIV and that was his greatest moment? he has got to be shittin…

  39. LFan says:

I was DEEPLY saddened today over the closing of the freeway today. Traffic really makes you think.

  40. control says:

It’s funny that when a crazy pedophile like Michael Jackson dies, the biggest funeral service in the world is thrown, yet when someone who actually did more good than bad in the world, like Mother Teresa dies, her corpse is fed to the dogs in whatever god forsaken country she died in while spreading good to those less fortunate.

    It’s just disgusting.

BTW Joshua, great come backs my man, keep up the good impression of an illiterate downs stricken child molester.

  41. the cynic says:

is this MJ fanboy love ever going to end? Its been a week already, get over people. MJ was a great performer(not an artist, not a musician, not a lyricist) who happened to be a wierdo who could never get over his childhood. It sucks that he died for the people who cared for him, but he doesn’t deserve all this

  42. cee money says:

Magic is full of shit. Plain and simple. None the less it was a great tribute
I have a bunch of white friends but there seems to be a lot of hate on MJ and its mostly coming from white folks. I ain’t saying but I’m just saying.

  43. POPPI GEE says:

    Dang 41 comments. Hmmm.

    Just looking for

    Sarah
    Nicole
    Elijah Earley
    Jay-Are

    Not in here either? Hmmm.

  44. LFan says:

    Wow 42, LMAO.

  45. Austin Burton says:

Magic sounds EXACTLY like when they made fun of him on the Family Guy’s Star Wars episode:

“HA HA! But nah, they will be trying to kill you.”

Almost makes me think it was really Magic doing the cartoon voice.

  46. Ian says:

    control
shit the parents are worse than mj i would bet my house that most of them wanted some weird shit to happen so they can get some money out of it.

now andrew remember magic looked at mj the way you prob look at magic.

    the cynic
wrong he does deserve all this crap im not a fan but he is our generations elvis (not comparing talent but impact in music)

  47. Ian says:

    cynic
obama compared him to elvis , sinatra and the beatles and hes right.

  48. blanka says:

haha at people getting so heated over this shit. music debates get people to flip so much faster than b-ball arguments ever do.

btw, @#47, the elvis and sinatra comparisons are fair, as these were primarily performers, not writers or instrumentalists. but anyone who compares MJ to the beatles obviously has no background in or understanding of music. MJ’s commercial 80′s pop shit doesn’t even come close to the instrumental and lyrical virtuosity of the Beatles, Stones, Hendrix, Santana, and scores of other lesser knowns that recorded between ’64-’74. popularity does NOT equal talent or genius, especially in the heavily corporatized 1980′s.

  49. sh!tfaced says:

…and MJ was one of the first to take advantage of MTV and really benefit from it.

  50. the cynic says:

    @ian

perhaps you’re right, but I don’t feel; and i didn’t feel in his music either. Obviously im not a big fan, but outside of his classic Thriller cd(billie jean rocks!) I can’t thing of one thing he did that warrented any of the media blitzkrieg he has gotten throughout his career.

Obama may be right in those comparisons considering the media adulation, but I don’t remember everyone making a big fuss when George Harrison died and he actually wrote music

    I just don’t get it

  51. Austin Burton says:

@cynic — Mike came around at the perfect time in terms of media exposure and video becoming a factor, etc. And Harrison is best-known as the least-popular member of a group; Jackson was a stand-alone star for decades. It’s easy to see why his death would be a bigger story.

  52. Ace says:

I believe that Michael was found NOT GUILTY. So the fools in this post that wrote such foolish things are real idiots. Give the man and his family some respect. What impact have you people made on the world. God is our only judge not some nimrods on a blog.

  53. Austin Burton says:

My favorite Beatle was Clarence anyway…

  54. SWAT says:

And for the record mj did write music and he played several instruments. @ cee money…good call.
@ gee, lol another good call.

  55. sh!tfaced says:

    @52

yep. not guilty in a couple of cases. everything else was settled out of court. where do you think all those millions he made went…?

  56. Ian says:

    cynic
im with you on mjs music i dont like it but i have to admit hes the best performer of our generation i do like his vids and shows he made.

    blanka
personally i compare him to elvis not the beatles (besides they are a band not one dude) i like the beatles music more than mj BUT they are the second most overrated group everrrrrr imo after the police.
now if u asked me to rank the group id go
elvis , mj , sinatra , beatles with a big ass gap.

  57. sh!tfaced says:

wow, man. elvis, sinatra and mj didn’t even compose most of their own music. beatles was the shit if there ever was one. try playing the guitar and/or piano and for sure you’ll gonna appreciate the beatles a lot more… and as much as i hate the police, at least they composed most of their songs…

  58. Ian says:

sorry shitfaced but because someone composed their own stuff doesnt mean i have to like them over a group that doesnt. besides it doesnt mean much when you are composing shit like the police and stupid songs like i wanna hold your hand.

this isnt what i like or what you like lets be real mj and elvis are the biggest things everrrrrrrr worldwide (of course music wise)

  59. hansosword says:

Jackson admitted ON TAPE (Youtube “Living with Michael”!!!) that he likes to sleep with children…

I’m out like a bucket at Magic’s house..

  60. KYBaller312 says:

U kno the insensitivity of some of you ppl has made me realize there are no more good ppl n the world. MJ was what he was and I think Rev. Sharpton made one of his best speeches ever and his statement to MJ’s kids “your father wasn’t strange his situation was what was strange”. There is not “ANY” entertainer alive now or to come who will have the global impact that MJ had both in the enertainment world and especially from the standpoint as a humanitarian. I am not a MJ superfan either but I do respect his work and accomplishments and as human respect his passing as I would expect someone to respect the passing of someone I loved and would expect that any of you would expect the same…suppose your mother was a freak and boss head giver…would u want that brought out at her funeral or would you prefer to have her remembered as ur mom and a good woman?

  61. control says:

im a nerdy white boy with a 1 inch penis

  62. Mr. A says:

    Control… you too dude?!

I agree with you by the way, MJ was a sickening creature. Could dance like a motherfucker, but let’s just say I wouldn’t have been friends with him/her/it had I known him/her/it personally…

  63. Sccob says:

Yeah, I don’t know what Magic was thinking. Like I said on FB, I wonder what Magic’s reaction would have been if Mike requested watermelon for dessert. SMH. It would have been ill if Michael Jordan showed up, especially considering that they did the Jam video.

  64. zmafuel says:

Absolutely amazing speech by Kobe. Well done big guy..

  65. Twizz says:

Wow, some of these comments are straight crazy! Too many haters out here to address everyone specifically, but let’s take a look at some points mentioned here. First, as mentioned by many already, let’s celebrate the life of THE BEST PERFORMER OF ALL TIME! How do I/we know this? Shieeet, no one up in here could possibly wear what MJ wore before him and not get beat up in school for that, but after MJ, it was damn cool to be rocking red shiny jackets. Not convinced? He was the first non-white artist to be on the cover of Rolling Stones, nuff said! This leads to the next point – MJ broke color barriers, just like sport does! That’s definitely something special to celebrate about, not to mention his music was amazing. His stuff still sounds better than 95% of the garbage that’s out there today. As for you fools out there who keeps calling him a molester, ya’ll straight trippin! He’s never been convicted and the reason why MJ settled is because it’s actually cheaper to settle out of court than to fight it IN COURT! Even if he wins, he’s a bigger loser cuz them lawyers be jackin him for 3 times the amount just because he’s MJ. If you haven’t noticed, in America, it’s cool to be suing people. And everyone does it to get paid, straight and simple. C’mon now, do ya’ll think Kobe really needed to assault some busted ass girl from Colorado? Pleeeeease, girls throw themselves at him. If he wasn’t Money Bryant, it would be just another Wednesday night for that girl…Out

  66. LakeShow84 says:

Damn half of you give Western society a bad name..

    Straight disrespectful, PERIOD..

  67. LakeShow84 says:

    # 42..

I feel you i was in the liquor store the other day and some white doo scoffed at the MJ coverage and said some dumb shit about him mourning Fawcett more.. For reals?? Charlies Angel over Thriller?? damn..

Sorry but we can still see the racial divide in America.. Events like this bring it all out into the light.. say what u want about MJ’s LIFE (which most white people are so quick to attack) but his career is the most successful in black (and arguably WHITE) entertainment history..

Put that in ur pipe and smoke it..

  68. Charles Hansted says:

Well, now we know the cause of Michael Jackson’s heart failure… eating a bucket of KFC.

  69. the cynic says:

    @twizz

kobe got charged with rape because he worked the back door without permission. Good point about MJ breaking the color barrier though, that is something i hadn’t really thought about. I disagree about him making shiny red jackets cool though, everyone looked lame sporting that ish

  70. LakeShow84 says:

    @ Cynic

U really believe Kobe raped that girl??

Damn some ni$$as is a lost cause..

  71. anony says:

To the MJ haters – read this before you comment. I personally believe he is innocent and I am sticking to that

    http://globalgrind.com/content/778859/JORDAN-CHANDLER-MJ-DID-NOT-MOLEST-ME-I-LIED/

    http://surftofind.com/jackson

  72. Sweet English says:

Shit Austin i nealry died cos i was thinking EXACTLY the same thing while he was talking that is freaky.

‘UNLESS YOU BEEN MESSIN WITH THERE WIVES OR GIRLFRIENDS….. Naaah, but they will be there to help yooou’ I’v never really heard Magic speak at length so i just kinda took Family Guys word for it, but that was fucking perfect.

  73. Sweet English says:

‘AND THEN THE CHEF BROUGHT OUT SOME KENTUCKY FRIED CHICKEN AND I WAS LIKE MICHEAL YOU EAT KFC???….. Naaaaah but we did sit down and eat it.’

  74. Sweet English says:

    @ post 71

Dude have you read that article?? Whoever wrote it missed out the words ‘the’ and ‘and’ about 11 times, his words don’t even form a sentence. I think a 9 year old wrote that article. And since the sites tagline is ‘The world according to Hip Hop’ i would take the whole website witha pinch of salt. The fact that you have used that to prove how innocent MJ was, only makes me think he is even guiltier.

  75. SagJism says:

Sorry dude, I am with you but Joe dumars fieldhouse is not in detroit unless you are refering to the one that closed on 8 mile.

  76. SagJism says:

WOW, This has become the site of Honkies and Nigras

  77. SagJism says:

Prince is the best performer/artist ever.
