Wonder if Stern got a low cut with a tight fade on the side so he can rock his do-rag tonight before all the hair grows back and he is in the media again.

This is great for the David Stern and the League. By doing stuff like this and actually showing up in a harlem barbershop, Stern is getting more popularity votes and respect within the black community. A wonderful commissioner in my opinion. I have high respect for him.

David Stern is doing good work with the league. Some folk like to make monsters out of strangers.
I think the dress policy is misdirected and racist, but I don’t think it’s based on racism on Stern’s part, I just can’t see that guy as racist. A hard businessman maybe, and no activist, but not a racist. I think it’s based rather on having to react to the American public’s race-based assumptions and the press’s tendency to play to them for sales. Let’s be honest, they weren’t angry about white guys turning up looking like trailer trash, it was the word “thug” being thrown around by the media and the fans, and the sort of open-but-hidden racism that word allows to slosh around.
More recently, look at Yahoo’s headline, “Knicks G Robinson arrested”. It leaves out the cause so all we see is the common association of a tattooed black man and legal trouble, regardless of it’s nature. If Wally Szcerbiak or Z Ilgauskas was arrested, I’m not so sure we’d see arrested there, truth be told I’m not sure we’d see any article at all about a boring white man neglecting to pay a fine.
