Greg Paulus Named Syracuse Starting QB
Ladies and gentlemen, meet Syracuse’s new starting quarterback (named after just a week of practice!), Greg Paulus. After seeing the ire raised by the news that Paulus was making a run at the NFL this summer and the general reaction to his choice to play football in college, we can only assume that the majority of college football fans are going to be dying to see defenses bring the house when they line up across from him.
After you’ve watched the ESPN video, do you think Paulus winning the job had more to do with his football ability or the university’s desire to breath life and national interest back into a down-and-out program?

Granted the ‘Cuse is awful, to be able to just show up 4 years removed is pretty amazing. He may not be popular, but guy is an athelete that’s for sure.

This is an amazing story…really! I didn’t like Paulus at Duke, and I damn sure didn’t think he’d start on this team, but like doc says, he went there and TOOK the starting spot. Ok, you wanted it, you got it. I’m interested to see how this turns out…

Paulus is a grade A ball sucker in college (evidence the numerous dunks where get caught the lipton special) but to go anywhere, no matter the football program and win the starting job is saying something as to his ability as a QB…i think we need to revisit this story if he puts up stats or leads them to arespectabl record (6-5 or better)

Would the guys at Dime dislike Paulus so much if he was black?
