EA Sports NBA Live 10 Preview
When our friends at EA Sports came through the Dime offices to demo the new NBA Live 10 game for us a few weeks back, we promised some exclusive videos of the gameplay.
Now they’re starting to come through. Check out this first one that showcases all of the attention to detail in the game. Pretty sick…

It would be great if EA Sports made a better basketball game. Then, the two franchises could push each other and the consumers would benefit the most. I grew up playing Live from 95-06, but 2K is simply a better-playing game through and through. EA got someone from the 2K team to guide development for Live 10, and hopefully that results in improved gameplay without a blatant 2K ripoff.

If 2K would have a daily update like Live, that would close the door on any kind of discussion. For now, the only thing that makes Live appealing is the daily updates. But that’s not enough for me to not buy 2K, which is easily the superior product.

I love how I was watchin a video about lives new upgrades and their big improvement….”hustle plays” wow….so instead of the ball rolling out of bounds, guys will hustle and dive for the ball leading to fast breaks…way to fix all the game flaws from previous years EA….All this time I’ve been complaining about crappy gameplay, cheesy arcade graphics and dunks meanwhile what was REALLY MISSING was hustle plays and smoother looking jerseys.

Of course we’re going to cover 2K10 as well. Live and 2K are both big parts of the basketball culture and both deserve coverage.
And trust me when I tell you, we don’t promote most of the stuff that is given to us for free, only the product that we like (and in turn, think that you will like). We played Live and thought it was very, very good - so we’re going to continue to cover it.

ditto the other comments on here…if the best thing you can advertise about a bball game is jerseys, kicks, tats, and pregame rituals (basically, stuff people could see in the first 10 seconds of any game but choose not to because they skip through it), you’re in big trouble.

well nba live is turning into a Madden……concentrating on the little stuff that no one really cares about….and not focusing on the gameplay…
case in point. my friend tells me that NBA Live is gonna be better than 2k….why? kuz it has over 500 different pairs of shoes….
keep the gimmick stuff…and concentrate on the gameplay more!

No one’s riding anything. We played the game and it’s strong. It is much, much better than it has been in a long time. If you play it and still hate it, then that’s cool. That’s your opinion.

Bottom line, Live gameplay sucks. I still don’t know how they don’t sit down and fix that. Year in and year out and still all they do is show their “realistic game details”.
If and when they do step up with the gameplay, added with all these gimmick shoes, tats, rituals, etc. that’s a superior product for the consumers.

@mosduff, ya, nothing like spending $60 so my created player can rock a pair of jordans that I won’t even notice once i start a game.
Live has always been about gimmicks. And ya just like madden. They spent tons of time hyping presentation meanwhile they had to cut out superstar mode to the skin and bones just in order to do that…so ya, i can see a nice pre-game tail gate cutscene but if my superstar wins the superbowl they don’t even celebrate? just walk off the field like a normal game…good job EA

Unless Live gets some out of this world reviews, i’m still riding with the 2K series. MUCH better gameplay than Live easy.

For all those who abondoned liv for 2k( everyone started with live dnt deny that), wat would it take 2 get u back, because you are not gonna buy both games and see which is better. I’m guessing you’ll buy 2k, but if live 10 is better how will u kno?, and dnt say a demo, cuz sports demos suck ass. For some reason i think live 10 will equal 2k in gameplay, and once trhat happenes those liitle things like jersey, sneaks, and tats will mean a whole lot more. and easports.com does talk about the gameplay. check it out

From reading most of the comments it looks as if most people think live is not live up to expectations this year. Well i’ve been playin live and 2k for a long time now, and i thought both were pretty good over the years. I will say that live has had a little downfall with some aspects of the game, and 2k has been right where ea has been wrong. Live10 is looking pretty good. You guys have been complaining about gameplay, & rebounding, etc. Well they’ve already fixed those problems. They have videos on youtube of what they fixed, and it looks very good. Gameplay looks wayyy better, and guys the reason they show little things like 500 pairs of shoes and 90 uniforms to choose from is because they’re just giving you a taste of whats to come. There not gonna give you gameplay in your face on the 1st video. I think live has a lot to look forward too this year.You guys who like to say ” live has to get a 2k producer just to fix the game”, don’t forget that 2k originated some of there things from live.
