Top 50 Sneaker Stores: Grand (#34)

Grand

Just like an art collector scouring the globe for a masterpiece, sole searching sneaker fiends will go to great lengths to find an exclusive pair of kicks. Back in Dime #25 (August 2006), we put together a list of the Top 25 Sneaker Stores when the kick game had never been bigger. But while that list was limited to mostly US spots, we decided in our 50th issue to take it worldwide. Read More »

Be Careful What You Get Tattooed On Your Body

Marcin Gortat

I remember hearing this story during the Finals. Marcin Gortat, who has a Jumpman tattoo on his leg, was asked by Reebok/adidas to cover up his ink. Makes sense. But now word out of Orlando is that Gortat is going to be wearing Vince Carter‘s signature Nike shoe. Read More »

jason_williams

We read in the New York Post this morning that Jason Williams is going to be working out for the Knicks at their practice facility out in Westchester, N.Y., this afternoon. From Lottery to Luxury, Part 2

Baron Davis

Even the worst team in the NBA is one monster season by one player away from getting back in the playoff race. And it doesn’t always have to be a superstar putting in an MVP-caliber effort, either. Yesterday we looked at five ’09 Lottery teams and pinpointed one player who could get them back into postseason contention in 2010. Here are four more guys who need to step it up… Read More »

Minnesota messed up again, plus Allen Iverson going to Greece?

This never would've worked...

Can’t the Timberwolves do anything right? The same franchise that used its first-ever draft pick on Pooh Richardson when Mookie Blaylock, Tim Hardaway and Shawn Kemp were still on the board; that cost itself five years of first-round picks just to overpay Joe Smith under the table; that wasted Kevin Garnett‘s prime by not getting him a good enough supporting cast; that may have fumbled their biggest post-KG opportunity at the ’09 Draft; that’s taking way too long just to eventually hire Elston Turner as its next coach — they’ve done it again. Candace Parker Is My New Favorite Celtics Fan

Candace Parker

For a Monday slow with basketball news, you can understand how excited I was when I saw Shelden Williams agreed to a one-year contract with the Celtics. Not because the fifth overall pick in the 2006 NBA Draft helps solidfy the frontcourt, but because this means I’ll get to see a lot more of Candace Parker. Read More »

Olympiakos To Offer Allen Iverson $10 Million

Allen Iverson

The latest rumors out of the Euro-basketball world is that the Greek basketball club Olympiakos is set to offer Allen Iverson a 2-year deal worth an estimated $10 milllion. That deal would be the same proposed offer that Nate Robinson recently turned down and would be about equal to the NBA’s mid-level exception that NBA teams are offering him. Read More »
