is it just me or does AI look skinnier than Snoop these days?

karizmatic says:
He still didn’t really answer the question about whether he would accept a role coming off the bench. So that tells me that he doesn’t see himself as a bench player, which is sad because at this point in his career he truly is the kind of guy who could contribute to a championship team coming off the bench and perhaps playing in crunch time. If this were 10 years ago there is no way AI would be coming off anyone’s bench but at this point he’s got to look at how he would fit in the team concept. Of course that’s never really been his strong suit.

Iversen be very overrated players y’all. Cat’s super quick forsho, but he be takin’ so many of them bad shots over and over again. most thugs can be scorin 30 points per game if they be taking 20-25 shots y’all. Cat’s never been known to be pratisin and ain’t that good at gettin’ them teammates playin and motivating. Ain’t no doubt ya’ll that cat’s been unable to find a team. I got respek for Iversen – cat’s got heart, but he sure ain’t all that he be made out to be.
True thugs never lie.

Captain Jean Luc-Picard says:
AI looks skinnier and is pretty sullen. Hope he gets picked up soon, by a contender.

Ross says:
I thought he implied he would come off the bench, but you’re right karizmatic, he really dodges the question.

richard from cleveland says:
i think he will get picked up sometime in the season by a contender some team is going to see if they need some scoring and sign him up for the rest of the year i dont see him on a team come training camp which is sad because AI wont be on NBA 2k10 or NBA Live 2010
September 2nd, 2009 at 4:20 pm
karizmatic says:
@ Ross
I think that’s the main sticking point for a lot of teams, if they ask AI to come off the bench he’s going to say he doesn’t want to do that. In addition accepting a bench role at this point would mean accepting bench money, but then he’s not going to get a huge contract at this stage anyway.

@ Richard
If AI isn’t on NBA 2k10 or live in the free agent pool. The first thing I’m doing is creating him, and I might even make him the young AI just for the heck of it. lol.

Mellmeister says:
Sad to hear that one of the games amazing talents would wither out and die a miserable death, not being wanted. i hope someone picks him up soon, he should just embrace the role that he’s given, a good coach and team would know where to place him, but he himself should know his place. Change is the only thing constant in this world and he should be able to adapt, if he needs to come off the bench, then come off the bench… then do what you do the best. his goal should be “Sixth Man of The Year” not MVP…
Iverson should head to the Bobcats, so that they would get a legitimate Scorer without destroying anyones growth. Atleast the Bobcats would be eligible to make a playoff run.

If he still wants to be relevant,
go to the Charlotte:

Better yet, Head to the KNICKS!!!!!

jzsmoove says:
The teams that should really push to sign him are the Spurs, Lakers and Celtics. Ok the man’s mind is still warped about playing bench. But if there is a place where he will contribute and contribute the right way, its at San Antonio. He gets the respect automatically and no one player is much bigger than the rest of the team. Pop will command respect from him also and if Pop and his military regime cant do it then nobody can. the Spurs will be a lock to win the chip with a superstar bench tandem of Manu and Iverson. If he wants to be rewarded financially and ride bench, then its the Lakers. Sign for bench money, the sponsors will gladly take care of the other aspects. Same thing with PJ, if Phil Jackson cannot get Iverson’s head straight on, then nobody can. How can you defy who has 10 more blings than you? And if he just wants to simply win just for the bling, then stay east with the Celtics. There is nobody better than garnett to stick it to him if he ever crosses the line. Garnett will be there on the floor, not the sideline. I believe that mentally, Garnett can keep Iverson in line. Why do you think Starbury is toiling in the warped world? Nah, but seriously. And Iverson needs to come off his high horse. The man is still warped about this bench issue, BUT wants to win a chip. Iverson needs to be in an NBA lineup until he cant ball no more. I aint a big fan of his personally but I still respect his game.

Spliff 2 My Lou says:
Is there anyone else in the NBA with more street cred and who is as intimidating a player as Iverson yet has no muscle mass whatsoever? We’ve talked about the most physically weak players in the League but Iverson’s name never comes up. By the looks of those pretzel sticks he calls arms maybe it should.

how is it Iverson has played all these years and still hasn’t managed to put on any weight. Guess a man can survive off a liquor diet

@1 As soon as I saw this pic the first thing I noticed was how skinny A.I. looked. He looks skinnier than his G-town days!

BiG ShoT BoB says:
@13 Spliff 2 My Lou: Actually Iverson one of the most strongest people in the NBA. I think they said he has something like 4% body fat which is insane.
But I have a question. Since Iverson makes the allstar game every year faithfully does that mean this will be the first time some not in the NBA will make it? Is he even eligible? Guess if he’s not on a team he won’t even be on the ballot right? What if all the fans wrote him in that would be funny as hell.

Irishballer says:
@ jzsmoove none of those scenarios are realistic… and Iverson would want a bigger role than what he would be getting with those top teams

analord says:
I seceond jzsmoove as well. Though it’s hard to see AI fitting in in the Lakers system, given by their nee and personnel, Boston and San Antonio seem to be really good destinations for AI. They are great teams that commit to win, not some teams trying to find their ways just to make the playoff.
Although, it’d be really weird to see AI playing behind Tony Parker or Rondo.
The same goes to Marbury as well. It’s hard for me to have to witness a summer when the top two PGs in the legendary ’96 draft both being unsigned and seemingly unwanted. Things like this make me feel old…

It’s cool to imagine him on contending teams, but that’s not gonna happen. not this year.

Who cares?…as great as Iverson WAS, he still has not grown up…the hat to the back thing is getting old…grow up already….and is it me or does Iverson’s arms look like he has not lifted weights or trained in months….his arms look like a woman’s…..he is DONE…as much as I used to love him…his attitude played a big role in his demise……wow….
