Not to take a dump on my colleague Gerald Narciso’s five trade scenarios for Stephen Jackson, but there’s one deal out there that makes almost too much sense not to happen — if in fact the Warriors are going to grant Capt. Jack’s request and send him to a winning team:
MIAMI gets: Stephen Jackson
GOLDEN STATE gets: Michael Beasley, Dorell Wright
For starters, the money works out. Jackson is due $7.6 million this season, while Beasley ($4.6M) and Wright ($2.8M) combine to make almost equal that amount. Read More »
The basketball gods were kind to Jamal Crawford this offseason. After enduring a decade of playing for drama-filled, losing franchises (i.e. Isiah), the Hawks rescued Crawford by aquiring him from the dreadful Warriors. Jamal, as we know is infamous for his 10-year old playoff drought – currently the longest for active players. Assuming injuries and/or a major meltdown in A-Town, ‘Mal should see what it’s like for the first time to work past April 14. Read More »
With the 2009 FIBA Americas Championship currently taking place, check out this TV commercial that has aired all throughout the Dominican Republic featuring the DR’s finest: Charlie Villanueva, Francisco Garcia, Al Horford and former NBA player Luis Flores. The sound effects are amazing.

When I heard this weekend that new Timberwolves coach Kurt Rambis was mostly likely going to add Bill Laimbeer and Reggie Theus to his staff, this got me thinking: If there was a 3-on-3 tournament amongst the NBA’s current coaching staff, who would win? Read More »
Now that we knowRicky Rubio won’t be playing in Minnesota this season (or next), questions turn to whether he’ll ever play for the Wolves at all. Soon after it was reported that Rubio is definitely staying in Spain until 2011, some Minnesota sources said the Knicks were worming their way back into the picture, pitching trades to see if the Wolves would rather get something now than wait for Rubio later. Then some New York sources promptly denied it. (Why wouldn’t they?) If the teams are talking, apparently David Lee, Nate Robinson, and/or a No. 1 pick would be some of the bargaining chips on the table. Just for fun, let’s pretend there’s a chance of a deal here: We’ve been over how Rubio and the Knicks would be a perfect fit; but what about Lee or Nate in Minnesota? Read More »
