Austin Daye Channels Tayshaun Prince In Block On D-Wade
In Smack this morning, we talked about Austin Daye catching D-Wade from behind on a breakaway sending Flash’s layup out of bounds. Drawing all sorts of comparisons to Tayshaun‘s infamous swat, what would you say is the best come from behind block you’ve ever seen?

Davros says:
David Robinson had one against (I think) Kenny Smith when he ran from half court and made up ground to make the block and that was against a guy nicknamed ‘the Jet’ who was maybe 15 yards ahead. I think Hakeem had one like that as well, can’t remember against who (maybe Kevin Johnston?)

Replacement refs making an impact already. If the regular refs were on the job, there’s no way they’d let that go without a foul. According to the regular refs, WADE can’t do no wrong, he doesn’t foul people, and he don’t get blocked.

Tayshaun on Reggie Miller in the finals when Detroit won it all hands down best play ever not just best block ever.

Both of D-Rose’s last year were SWEEEET!
Miller getting rejected was part 1 of 2 of him getting humiliated
And Scalabrine getting blocked from behind in the playoffs by D-Rose while trying the 2-handed jam…I jumped out of my seat for that one!

D Wade will have a monster year just because of that blocked dunk, he dont want to get punked by other Austin Daye dudes. He will also learn to watch his back, thanks Austin.

Jordan on Mercer, or Prince on Miller (partially because it was the playoffs and because it was on Miller).
Control, hahahaha GOOD POINT! The Heat are going to lose 10 more games this year just because Wade won’t be going to the line like he usually does.

The block MJ had on Pat Ewing was far better than his one on Mercer. He caught Pat at the top of his shot and just sent it right back in his face….hard

Nah, Hakeem was on KJ

Hey Dime, any chance of some love for D Rob? Been looking at some old stuff online and for a big guy he was athletic, maybe more so than Dwight. Dwight might be able to jump higher, maybe. No way he matches foot speed and overall athleticism

The three from last year that are most notable to me are Lebron blocking Jason Richardson from behind when J-Rich tried a 360 dunk.
The second was Lebron blocking Baron Davis.
The third was Chris Anderson’s block on Lamar Odom in the Western Conference Finals.
Those are the 3 notables from last season that I can remember. (remember being the key word.) There have been so many fantastic blocks over the years its tough to pick one as the best ever. There were alot of great blocks just last season. Those are some notables. (note – I’m not showing Lebron favoritism, he just had some outstanding blocks last season since he added that part to his game.)

This was also another notable, Kobe blocking Rasaul Butler.
