I’ve told you about the perks of my job before, and yesterday was no different. Our friends at Reebok flew me and a couple other writers down to Boston to visit Lynn English High School, whose basketball squad holds the No. 1 spot in the preseason rankings. Read More »

ESPN’s Chris Broussard is reporting that the Stephen Jackson trade talk has heated up for the Golden State Warriors. Broussard stresses that these are strictly rumors at this point, but mentions that team’s like the Cavs, Nuggets, Spurs, Hornets and Clippers might be interested in acquiring Jackson. The Warriors apparently are interested in Manu Ginobili from the Spurs or Zydrunas Ilgauskas from the Cavs.

Every year in the NBA there is a team that makes an incredible single season turn around. Last year it was the Miami Heat and this year it will be the Washington Wizards. (Sorry Sacramento Kings fans) The one caveat to that incredible single season turnaround is the return of a superstar. Much has been said about the return of Gilbert Arenas and what that means to a Washington Wizards team that only won 19 games. The Wizards have done more than just get healthy, they also brought in two NBA starters, Mike Lloyd Miller and Randy Foye, to add even more firepower to their team. Today’s Reebok Still Talkin’ Quote of the Day comes from one of the newest addition to the team formally known as the Bullets. Read More »

An effective ad campaign can be a goldmine. Look at Geico. Who else could make cavemen or a wad of cash with googly eyes drive you to buy insurance. Taking a page out of the book of out-the-box ideas is the Miami Heat.
For anyone that has been down in South Florida, you might have wondered what the giant black billboard with the word “DOUBTERS” written in white italics was all about on I-95 southbound just north of Miami. With no logo or identification or whom or what had placed the ad, all you could see was birds perched atop it doing their business directly onto the billboard. Read More »

Right after “Take advantage of any opportunity for free food,” one of the golden rules of this whole journalism thing is that you have to let both sides tell their story.
Over the last year, a lot of people have been telling Rip Hamilton‘s story for him. Read More »

On night number two of the 2009-10 NBA season, 20 more team will make their debut. Probably the most intriguing matchup of the 12 games on schedule tonight is between the Hornets and Spurs. It also happens to be the most accessible game since it will be part of the ESPN double header (the Jazz/Nuggets being the other). These two teams battled it out for seven games in the 2008 Western Conference second round in what was one of the most thrilling playoff series in recent years. Read More »

I like being proven right. So right now I’m liking Paul Pierce, who did his part last night to prove me right for ranking him the NBA’s 3rd-best go-to guy, ahead of crowd favorites LeBron and Carmelo. But lost in the beauty that was a vintage Truth performance was the fact that Pierce was only finishing what Rajon Rondo started. Read More »
