Before I head out for the night, just want to make sure that anyone who reads this knows about Control and his knowledge on basketball.

Ok, Control is a wack c**t. And he doesn't know sh.t about ball. Dude must be stupid, or very young.

The Knicks and the relentless media exposure in ny, make or break ballers. Marbury, Curry, Varn Horn are a few who came after Sprewell and never lived up to the hype and pressure New Yorkers expect from their star recruits.

Sprewell, who came to NY fresh off a 60+ game suspension, 6+ mil in fines, and a negative media attention carried the team to the finals in the '99 season. He came from the bottom of the barrel... There has been no baller to come back from such a fall from stardom and take a team to the finals like he did.

It's known he regrets how he handled PJ Carlesimo, and he would probably have never said the feed line. But that aside, there is no denying the guy could flat-out play.

I might add anyone who paid close attention to shooting guards of that era... (And this was not a weak time in the NBA.. Now is worse), knows that Sprewell was one of the best in the L and he came to the Knicks PAST HIS PRIME. A lot of people know Sprewell from NY. He was past his prime. He peaked early. His strong years was in GS from 93 to 97. NY got a different player....who took em to the finals.

If you don't remember his years in Golden State, then you really shouldn't talk. He took Jordan's spot on the all NBA First Team during Mikes first retirement. There was no one better at the two guard position, at that time in the NBA...No one quicker, no one with as much upside on both ends of the court. If anything he was underrated.

And this add is ok too. Nice memories, great player.

And whoever saw game 47 in the following link... is one of the best examples of what im talking about. This is against the old Ewing/Oak/Mase/Starks Knicks.

And back when this was made, Spree was either still with Golden State, or had just been traded to New York. All his credentials were with his GS teams, and he was a beast back then. Top 10 in scoring, top 10 in steals, a fist full of boards and assists to go with it, could hit from down down, drive on anyone, lock up on D too.

Shame he was a bit of a nut job.

Before I head out for the night, just want to make sure that anyone who reads this doesn't get the idea that Spree was actually a good basketball player.

He wasn't. Period.

If he didn't play in New York, he'd be nothing other than the typical crazy homeless guy I don't even go out of my way to piss on when I need a pick-me-up. The guy is so overrated it's crazy to think about, not to mention a headcase and a generally horrible person inside and out. There really isn't anything redeeming about him, and this commercial sucks ball mostly because he is in it. Put the shamwow fag in this commercial and it's top 10 greatest ever...

One of the best? Maybe, maybe not. The only thing certain about that commercial is that it definitely fed his family.
