Daily Fantasy Diagnosis: 11.24

Marcus Camby

Beast of the Night: Marcus Camby scored 12 points, grabbed 18 boards and dished out 4 assists while racking up 3 steals and 1 block. He shot 67 percent (6-9) from the field and turned the ball over twice. He’s having somewhat of a disappointing season so far, but his owners have to be pleased that he put up this big line. Camby’s injury history and the nearing return of Blake Griffin mean that his owners shouldn’t expect this type of production on a nightly basis. It also might be a good time to sell high on him.

Noteworthy Lines:
Tyreke Evans – 10-18 FG (56%), 7-7 FT (100%), 1 3ptm, 28 Pts, 4 Reb, 4 Ast, 1 Stl, 5 TO; He battled through some pain and will continue to put up big lines while Kevin Martin is sidelined. Think about selling high on him in the near future.

Marc Gasol – 8-10 FG (80%), 2-3 FT (67%), 18 Pts, 6 Reb, 3 Ast, 2 Stl, 4 Blk, 2 TO; Gasol continues to put up awesome lines and has a shot at being the better Gasol brother this season, in fantasy terms.

Rudy Gay – 10-17 FG (59%), 3-5 FT (60%), 1 3ptm, 24 Pts, 8 Reb, 3 Ast, 3 Stl, 1 Blk, 4 TO; Gay is playing very well lately and is thriving in a productive frontcourt.

Michael Redd – 1-3 FG (33%), 1-6 FT (17%), 1 3ptm, 4 Pts, 2 Ast, 1 TO; He played 11 minutes in his return to the court after taking about three weeks off. Expect his minutes and production to climb slowly.

John Salmons – 8-15 FG (53%), 5-6 FT (83%), 1 3ptm, 22 Pts, 2 Reb, 3 Ast; This line gives his owners hope, but they’ve been there before. Don’t get excited until Salmons strings together two or three consecutive solid games like this one.

Greg Oden – 7-8 FG (88%), 10-12 FT (83%), 24 Pts, 12 Reb, 1 Ast, 2 Blk, 2 TO; He looked great last night and his points tied a career-high. Coach Nate McMillan is set on letting Oden play through foul trouble, so lines like this might pop up more frequently.

Al Jefferson – 6-13 FG (46%), 1-2 FT (50%), 13 Pts, 13 Reb, 3 Stl, 2 Blk, 8 TO; The turnovers were ugly but this is his third straight double-double, which is a great sign.

Al Thornton – 11-16 FG (69%), 9-9 FT (100%), 31 Pts, 10 Reb, 1 Ast, 1 TO; He isn’t much more than points and boards, but Thornton’s on a good streak right now. Sell high on him before Griffin returns.

Waiver Wire Appeal:
Omri Casspi – 15 Pts, 1 3ptm, 3 Reb, 1 Ast, 2 Stl, 3 TO; He deserves consideration while Martin is out.

Ersan Ilyasova – 20 Pts, 1 3ptm, 4 Reb, 4 Stl; How many times do you have to be told? Grab him immediately.

Hakim Warrick – 15 Pts, 4 Reb, 2 Ast, 1 Stl; So long as Andrew Bogut is out, Warrick deserves a look in deeper leagues.

Matt Bonner – 23 Pts, 6 3ptm, 6 Reb, 2 Ast; He’s as hot-and-cold as they come but remains a good source of threes, especially in deeper leagues.

Injuries:
Antoine Wright (ankle): could play tonight

Marco Belinelli (groin): ditto

Mike Dunleavy (knee): might return Wednesday

Corey Maggette (hamstring): probable tonight

Anthony Randolph (knee): tweaked it during the weekend, monitor his status

Shawn Marion (ankle): could play tonight

Eduardo Najera (back): still about two weeks away from returning

Brook Lopez (ankle): sprained it at practice Monday, day-to-day

Courtney Lee (groin): could return tonight

Nenad Krstic (ankle): questionable tonight

Nick Collison (knee): day-to-day

Mehmet Okur (flu): likely to return tonight

Caron Butler (foot): questionable tonight, monitor his status

Richard Hamilton (ankle): at least another week away

Tayshaun Prince (back): ditto, but could be closer than Rip

For Tonight:
See if Gilbert Arenas’ stirring words spark some nice stats from the Wizards as they take on the Sixers at home. Also, watch Elton Brand to see if he can keep the ball rolling.

Monitor Devin Harris’ minutes and production as he works the rust off against the Nuggets.

Which Knicks’ guard will show up tonight against the Lakers?

It’s good to see more of my guys in the Noteworthy Lines section instead of the Injuries section…

  2. CAN says:

Hey Doc.. which guys on your waiver wire appeal would you pick up if my only options for drops are jameer and bogut.. are any of them worth dropping either of the 2 for?

  3. The Fantasy Doctor says:

@CAN: Ilyasova seems to have the best shot at long-term value, but it depends on how deep your league is. If it’s shallow, do it. If it’s deeper, it’s tough to drop either of those two dudes.

  4. len-e says:
