Deron Williams Will Do Everything Short Of Begging To Get Your All-Star Vote

Deron Williams knows getting voted into this year’s All-Star Game in his hometown Dallas is a popularity contest. And frankly, he ain’t that popular. Not compared to Chris Paul, Kobe Bryant, Tony Parker and even Steve Nash anyway. Playing in a small market like Utah and not being the face of any national endorsement deals, D-Will is at a slight disadvantage. But that is not stopping him from trying. Deron is looking to pull out every stop short of begging to start in the league’s midseason classic.
A few years back, Chris Bosh made some headlines when he made hilarious YouTube videos to campaign for himself to be an All-Star. Williams is looking to take a similar approach, as far as self promotion is concerned. His representatives at his McClaren Sports are in charge of his All-Star campaign.
“The whole goal is to create awareness of voting every day via online and text [messaging],” said Steve Wright, director of marketing at the Houston-based agency told the Salt Lake Tribune. “Every vote counts and we’re trying to get Deron to All-Star.”
On Williams’ website, www.deronwilliams.com, there is the slogan “I am a fan … This is my pledge” to motivate fans to vote for him daily. There will be videos made, but Williams has already stated he won’t go to Chris Bosh lengths and pretend to be a used car salesman.
“That’s what I don’t really want to do,” Williams said. “I don’t want to have to try to beg for votes. But there’s little things you can do to try to gain more.”
On the court, Williams has done his part. He has averaged 19.8 ppg and 9.9 apg (second in the NBA). However, the Jazz started the season slow, but have turned it on as of late and their record now stands at 7-6.
Do you think Deron Williams Will be an All-Star This Year?

I hope that this doesn’t work and Deron gets snubbed, a pissed off DWill is a better player and who really cares if you’re popular, just be the best. He’s proven himself on the court, it’s too bad he’s resorting to a p.r. firm.

Assumin Kobe and Nash are starting, that leaves room for 3-4 other guards. Paul, Parker, Ginobili, B Roy, Chauncey and DWill. Two of those 6 gettin snubbed.

I think he gets in, to bad he has that system that won’t let him drop 40 or 50 like he is able to do.

Manu ain’t getting snubbed, he don’t deserve to be there anyhow. Guy has had one good game this year (against my Raps of course, fucker straight killed us) and he’s almost as injury prone as TMac. He ain’t deserving of any All Star game unless he manages to pull 20/5/5 for the rest of the year. He’s only pullin down 14/2/4 right now, playing bench player minutes. Get him a sixth man award, but nothing more than that.

My man, I was going easy and didn’t even hate on Manu much. I stuck to the facts, and even gave him a LITTLE bit of props on single handedly winning the game against my Raps. I’m not sure I can be any easier on your boy
I didn’t mention any flopping, bald spots or Brazilian trannys…
I think Anderson Valgina is turning into my most hated player in the league anyhow. Manu isn’t even seeing the court enough to keep his top spot. Manu is probably sitting at my 3rd most hated player, next to Valgina and Rondo. Who knows, guy remains injured enough and I might let him slip out of the top 5, haha.

West is too stacked at the guard positions.. right now it’s between Kobe, B-Roy, CP3, Steve Nash, & Deron Williams, and I supposed you could throw in one or two more names… I hope he makes it, he more than deserves it..

CP3 better not make it at this point, either. If he comes back from injury anywhere near the level at which he had been playing, sure. But right now, he’s been injured for almost half the season, and his team’s been playing better without him.

If Nash doesn’t start, it’s going to be like Barkley said one year(basically a profane word.) I will not repeat it though. Chris Paul doesn’t deserve to make it cause he hasn’t played. If he comes back and tears it up, then mention him. Sad fact is, the Hornets are playing better without him. Peja has had his best games when Paul has been hurt. The backup point guard is showing he can start for another team… Utah is a .500 team.
Poppi Gee says “too bad he can’t drop 40 or 50″, well, the dude’s a point guard. And there are at least 3 guys on Utah who should get the ball(4, maybe 5 when healthy.) Steve Nash could score 22 points a game if he wanted with ease, because he’s the only point guard who shoots over 50 percent from the field, well over 40 percent from 3, and 90 percent from the line, but he’s a point guard first.
This website is a joke when it comes to basketball… I wonder if they still think Dirk isn’t a Hall of Famer. Dimebag.com sucks…

Paul’s team is finally playing better since they decided they no longer wanted to play for Byron Scott and therefore getting him kicked out. When CP returns, they’ll be even better.
