Reebok Still Talkin’ Quote of the Day 11.18

Reebok Still Talkin'

Outside of Northern California the hotbed for NBA drama has been in the Allen Iverson camp. We watched as arguably the greatest pound for pound, inch for inch scorer and future Hall of Famer was left flailing in the wind during free agency. We scratched our heads when he signed with Memphis and none of us were surprised when the Grizzlies granted him his release. Now we are left to wonder where Allen Iverson will land since he has made it clear he is not ready to stay retired. For today’s Reebok Still Talkin’ Quote if the Day we look to ESPN’s Chad Ford and his take on the AI situation. Read More »

5 Suitors For The Inevitable Monta Ellis Trade

Monta Ellis

At this point, it appears that it’s not if, but rather when, Monta Ellis will be traded from the Warriors. With his agent, Jeff Fried, scheduled to meet with team management in Oakland tomorrow, apparently at Don Nelson’s urging, Golden State has been calling teams and offering to trade Ellis all week. Daily Fantasy Diagnosis: 11.18

Nene

Beast of the Night: Nene put up a monster line with 20 points, 10 rebounds, 5 assists, 4 steals, 4 blocks and 2 turnovers while shooting 62 percent (8-13) from the floor and 80 percent (4-5) from the line. It was his finest game of the season so far and his owners have to be hoping that he stays healthy. Read More »

Summer 2010: Chris Bosh to the Nuggets

Chris Bosh, Dime #33

After tossing and turning all afternoon from writing a pro-Jazz piece yesterday, I was comforted last night by a real good Michigan State/Gonzaga game (watch out for freshman Kelly Olynyk – kid’s no joke) and a Nuggets win over the Raptors 130-112 in Denver.

The game got me predicting and dreaming about a number of things. Namely, like how Carmelo Anthony will be All-NBA first team and how Chris Bosh really does get lost up in Canada. Read More »

Jason Maxiell Stops The Shannon Brown Show

Ever since last season, Shannon Brown has put on a show whenever he’s had the chance. Trying to reenact his poster on Mikki Moore, Jason Maxiell wanted no part of it, stealing the SportsCenter thunder.

Jason Williams Must Hold it Down For Orlando

Jason Williams

Jameer Nelson just can’t catch a break. Last February, the Magic’s starting guard hurt his shoulder, causing him to shut it down for the rest of last season and almost the entire playoffs. Just a few weeks into this 2009-10 season, Nelson tore some cartilage in his left knee against the Bobcats on Monday night. Jameer will have surgery on the knee and is expected to miss the next 4-6 weeks. The question now is: how much will Nelson’s absence hurt the Magic in the short and long run? Read More »

Georgetown wins ugly

If you know anything about college ball since the 1980s, you knew Georgetown vs. Temple was going to be low-scoring and physical with potential to get uglier than Pig Miller in HD.

And even still, what happened yesterday in the 19th-ranked Hoyas’ home opener was surprisingly grotesque. With the Owls adjusting to life without Dionte Christmas and G’town short as usual on reliable shooters, both teams made it a bricklaying contest. Read More »

Warriors are sorry, miss Jackson

LeBron James

It took about 47 and a half minutes for Don Nelson to really miss Stephen Jackson. In the Warriors’ first game since trading Capt. Jack to the Bobcats, they were actually hanging with the Cavs on the road last night. On a critical possession with under a minute to go and Cleveland ahead by four, LeBron of course had the rock, a situation where S-Jack would normally have been guarding him. This time, however, Nellie had to enlist Vlad Radmanovic for the job. (Well, he didn’t have to; Anthony Randolph might have been a better choice.) To the surprise of no one, LeBron scored easily, sticking a pull-up jumper for the dagger … Read More »

Reebok Still Talkin’ Quote of the Day 11.17

Reebok Still Talkin'

You would think that if you’re in the NBA fraternity that you would have an easier time building a friendship with one of the stars in the league. Unfortunately that’s not always the case. Indiana Pacers rookies Tyler Hansbrough and A.J. Price learned that the hard way when they came across KG over the summer. According to this snippet from this Boston Globe story: Read More »
