It’s too easy to start rolling out predictions and watch lists two weeks into the season. Unlike football, where two weeks means you’ve only played two games, two weeks of the NBA translates to almost 10 games, a good enough sample for most to gauge how a guy is going to play for the next 7-8 months. That’s why Steve Nash, Carmelo and Kobe are already running an MVP race, Brandon Jennings is running away with R.O.Y., and Ron Artest and LeBron are vying for Defensive Player of the Year.
So if he isn’t already on the ballot, here’s my early vote for Luol Deng as the NBA’s Most Improved Player. Read More »

Stephen Jackson is quickly becoming this year’s Rasheed Wallace. In years past we could always count on ‘Sheed to give us a great sound bite or share his true feelings about a player, referee or coach. Since joining the Boston Three Party, he has been on his best behavior and left a Trash Talk void. Enter Stephen Jackson. He took a shot at his organization by demanding a trade and subsequently David Stern took a shot at his wallet, he talked trash about arguably the best player in the world, his agent went all in on his Coach and now he has shown even rookies can get Jacked Up. For today’s Reebok Still Talkin’ Quote of the Day we turn to Gerald Narciso’s best friend Stephen Jackson in an interview with Inside Warriors. Read More »

Ten days ago on Halloween night, New York Knicks fans walked into Madison Square Garden with their usual annual optimism and excitement. The sold out crowd roared and cheered like it was the playoffs, especially after the Knicks put on a spirited fourth quarter comeback against the Sixers that forced overtime. Then once again, the Knicks ruined the moment by getting blown out in OT. Read More »

While most NBA malcontent chemistry killers would seem to warrant permanent exile these days, it looks like it’s just the opposite for Stephen Jackson as Yahoo! Sports is reporting that as many as 10 teams have expressed interest in acquiring him.
If it was just a matter of picking him up and putting him in the mix, bringing in S-Jack would probably be a no-brainer for lots of teams (when he’s into the team and wants to be there, by all accounts pretty much everybody loves playing with Jackson). There’s one huge obstacle though. Read More »

This last Thursday, forward Latavious Williams became the first high schooler to jump straight to the NBA since the League instituted its age limit in 2005. Oh, did I forget to mention that Williams went from graduation right into the NBA’s Development League?
You read right: the D-League. Read More »

Beast of the Night: Manu Ginobili was absolutely rabid last night, exploding for 36 points, 4 rebounds, 8 assists, 1 steal and 4 blocks, while nailing 6 threes and turning the ball over just once in just 32 minutes of work. He shot 53 percent (8-15) from the field and 88 percent (14-16) from the line. His owners have to be praying that Tim Duncan and Tony Parker take their sweet time recovering on the sidelines. Deron Williams has never been a man of many words. I’ve know this ever since I used to write for UtahJazz.com. But on the court, his game speaks volumes. Williams is having his best year statistically (21.4 ppg, 10.7 apg, 4.9 rpg, 1 spg) but the Jazz are off to their worst start since the 2002-03 season. Coming into yesterday’s game against New York, the Jazz were 2-4. Fortunately for them, they were playing the horrible Knicks and were able to squeeze out a much needed 95-93 victory. I caught up to D-Will for a quick minute before the game. Read More »
