Jennings is gettin respect from opposing players and the media, but he hasn’t gotten SHIT from the refs! Brandon is getting HAMMERED on so many drives and can’t get a fuckin call, it’s ridiculous. It’s like Stern put a message out to rain hell on Young Money for beating his system.

Just to say the move was as good as the block. Look like Chibbs out there. That’s Kenny Anderson. Lebron is physically a cheater. LOL. Why is he so big and quick. If he ever gets all the tools & completes the package he could avg and wear as many rings he wants. I still think we are yet to see the best of Brandon Jennings. With better players around & a little more experience. I think people are going to take to him like Chris Paul. The players love & respect him already. That’s very important. The Future of the League looks very bright for this class & the next few. Hopefully they would have learned good & bad from all the vets. Also hoping some of them stick around or lend helping hands during the off-season.

In the heat of the game you aren’t always thinking along the lines of “I am just going to tap or hit this ball lightly to a teammate”.

Many times in the simple flow of it all because you want to “fully” contest the shot (cause you don’t always per-say know if you are going to get the full block) it will come to a hard block into the cheap seats lol.

Then even in the same instance of actually full on knowing you got the block you aren’t always able to adjust your swing to where a teammate may be.

It’s sort of like when dudes who don’t grab the rebound try to at least hit it to a teammate. Sometimes it works and other times it will aggrivate the mess out of you if they are on your team cause you just want them to grab it instead of hitting it cause often it will end up going to the other squad.

I think sometimes the full on blocks are good and sometimes bad, I do think they should try more to get it to teammates but either way it’s a big stop on D.

some blocks into the stands send a message. Same reason why you would dunk the ball instead of laying it up. I wouldn’t encourage it all the time, but it’s a good thing every now and then to throw it out of bounds. The coolest looking blocks though is when you just grab it out the air. I’ve seen Charles Barkley, Shawn Kemp, Hakeem, and even Jordan do this before. If you can just grab the ball, it’s way more effective.

Also keep in mind that if you “tap” the ball on a block, it could very well end up in the hands of the opponent, and you’ll be out of position when they do get the ball. So maybe it goes both ways. Bet you Bill Russell never thought about that.

I totally agree with B-Nice. In HS I played center and was a fairly good shot blocker. I rarely spike the ball into the stands (not that I didn’t have the ability to). Rather, I would either tip it up to myself or a teammate. We would get at least 1-2 fast break opportunities which usually ended up in easy points. Might not be as flashy, but I’ll take the ball over the highlight reel.

Not an indictment of Lebron or any other player, but why dont more players try tapping the ball to their teammates, it looked as though Lebron was high enough to do it here. I promise, no hate, just curious.

Maybe Dime could talk to some shot blockers and ask why they insist on swatting the ball to the stands?

I dunno about the dunk contest, the NBA should introduce a Block contest. I would rather watch James, JSmoove and AK (circa 2005-6) run up behind some fools and SPIKE it into the cheap seats than i would watch Dwight Howard score glorified Layups in a wonderwoman costume.
