Breaking News: Brandon Jennings Fined For Twitter Violation

Brandon Jennings

For as great as Twitter has been connecting players with their fans, it has also caused some NBA guys to lighten their wallet. Stu Jackson, the NBA Executive Vice President of Basketball Operations, announced today that Brandon Jennings (a.k.a. @YUNGBUCK3) has been fined $7,500 for posting a message on his Twitter account immediately following the Bucks’ victory over the Blazers in Milwaukee on Saturday, Dec. 12.

After the game, at 11:39 PM, Jennings posted: Back to 500. Yess!!! “500” means where doing good. Way to Play Hard Guys.

Maybe it’s just me, but not sure that was worth $7,500.

What do you think?

wtf? didnt they say no tweeting DURING team activities.

  • the cynic

i thought guys just weren’t allowed to tweet during games?

  • weezy f

ducky said exactly what i was thinking..the NBA is gonna be like the NFL with these no fun rules

  • Celts Fan

I think it was 30 min before the game until after the post-game presser, but that’s straight up BS. During the games (and pregame stuff when you better be paying attention to the gameplan, not how many followers you have) I can see, but after that ish is over? Come the hell on. And I hate Twitter, but Jesus, let’s not let these guys have fun and connect with the fans and give them access. Friggin old people don’t understand crap. Pretty sure Stu Jackson thinks Twitter’s a sex toy…

Someone needs to teach Brandon Jennings basics of English. We’re and not Where! Sheesh!

Reminds of the time on Inside the NBA when Charles Barkley didnt know the difference between your and you’re!

  • http://www.swagbucks.com/refer/ProphetGK ProphetGK

Wow not even after the game? That’s serious, I think they should describe these rules better…

  • E$

They must consider this a taunt or something, but it looks harmless.

  • magicfaninTN

    @Rizwan: grammar Nazi. :P

Then it would also be doing “well,” not “good.” But what do we expect when players skip college.

    /end sarcasm

  • thenatural

give him a break… he didn’t go to college. remember? lol.

  • Ducky The Truth

@6- Thats why he couldnt pass the college exams. j/k

The college jokes are too funny guys. Why is this breaking news???? Is there a requirement on how to tie your shoelaces in the league. Are rap music on Ipods permitted. Soon you won’t be able to shake a defender or dunk. Then maybe a bleaching requirement next. For pete sake. Worry about real problems. I’m almost at the point of extinction. Soon all the fans you’ll have left will know nothing about the game or care too see it grow. You will drain the league for so much money that it will probably come close to extinction. NBA LOCKOUT ARE YOU KIDDING ME. EXPANDING THE LEAGUE OVERSEAS. MORE TEAMS. WHEN THEY’RE ONLY 6 GOOD MAYBE 2 OR 3 GREAT TEAMS IN THE LEAGUE. ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR RABBIT?????

What is the punishment for cheating for your star players. Better yet how about the direction of the league. If it weren’t for the crop of new players this yr I would have never signed up for league pass. I wouldn’t go to half the N.B.A. games now a days for free courtside. Not that many good players left. When Shaq,A.I.,Kidd,Duncan, and some of our many greats go. Who’s going to fill that void. The illusion that today’s game is anywhere near it’s peak yrs are nothing but misleading. FINE THAT. Stu Jackson I don’t remember you being that good of a player yourself man. Did you really deserve to be in the league. Is someone making you hand these fines down man. WWF part 2 staring the N.B.A. N.B.A. Jams was realer than the league today.

during the game. i understand can turn into a problem and there is attention being pointed elsewhere, but after the game, come on, thats over a third of the money i made last year over twitter, at least hand hat fine down to someone who needs the money. thats totally execessive

  • http://www.twitter.com/bfears bfears

thats wack. eff that. he gne mess around & delete his twitter again!

  • karizmatic

college or no college there is no reason to mess up “we’re” like that. The grammatical error alone is worth the money. Take an english course young money!

  • Rizwan

    @ karizmatic

At least someone agrees. FYI, you spelt charismatic wrong!!

    Just playing!

That was straight from Stern. He made a call to Stu and was like Whaddup pimpin, I’m probably gonna hit up the club soon and I need to make it rain, fine somebody.

Everyone knows Stern is a global pimp!

  • yourdribbleizcookiez

So… why did Jennings get fined again? for grammatical errors? his team just won and he gets buckets, what more you want from him? Stu should ceremonially disembowel himself for these bogus fines, the League is starting to act more n more like cops on the road at the end of the month, throwing tickets left n right to meet the quota n pump the coffers. im out like Stu, if he heeds my request

  • Octopus Jonny

Brandon must have sent that from his phone. And I don’t know about yall, but my phone’s (BB) spell check is wonky as fuck, so I can see the where thing happening on a spell check issue.

Either way, what a fucking stupid fine. What’s next? Fining him for posting from his bathroom the same day the Bucks have a practice? PUH_LEEZZ

  • jarmes p

hell doesnt have to know how to spell ,hes a rich.

  • rohan

should’ve tweeted something along the lines of “donaghy strikes again. That kobe call was bogus”

  • E$

Glad I’m not following him…One celebrity used “Roll” when it should have been “Role” & he is also a college graduate – It’s funny when u see those type of mistakes

  • LakeShow84

  • kevin k

Jennings a stud in the league no doubt, but he needs to thank James Naismith that there is a NBA cuz this foo will be nothing but a bum without one. “Where doing good” ??? seriously?? that’s some 1st grade grammar error

  • jeri

Just for your information, folks, nearly everyone here who posted comments about Brandon’s “lack” of spelling skills made some spelling errors yourselves.

Rizwan, it’s “Someone should teach Brandon Jennings THE basics of English”, not “basics”. And in my part of the world you spell “spelled” “spelled”, not “spelt”. My spell checker agrees with me, too, since when I type “spelt” I get a red line underneath it. Did you not see it on your computer screen?

Karizmatic, you failed to capitalize “college” in post # 15 (always capitalize the first word of any sentence, you know), and there should be a comma after “course”.

Jarmes P: “He” isn’t spelled with two l’s. And “he’s a rich” what? Guy? Why not say that? Oh, and there are too many spaces between “spell” and “he’s”.

E$: Too many periods after the end of your first sentence, you left out the comma after “Role”, “it’s” shouldn’t be capitalized, “you” isn’t spelled “u” in normal everyday conversation, and you forgot the period at the end of your last sentence. Oh, and it’s “types”, not “type”.

kevin k: It should be “Jennings IS a stud in the league, no doubt, but he needs to thank James Naismith that there is AN NBA because this fool will be nothing but a bum without one.” You also forgot to capitalize “seriously”, and “that’s”, plus you forgot to put a period at the end of your last sentence.

magicfaninTN: The first word in your first sentence should be capitalized, and there should be a question mark after “college”.

thenatural: “give” and “remember” should be capitalized.

Duckythetrush: You left out the punctuation marks in “couldn’t” and “that’s”. You also failed to capitalize “But” and you shouldn’t have capitalized “guaranteed money”. Plus, you left out the comma after “money”.

My point is, if you’re going to criticize someone else’s grammar, make sure your own is flawless.

  • jeri

And I got duckythetruth’s screen name wrong. The moral of this story is that no one is perfect, so lay off, ok?
