Don’t Bother Tim Thomas When He’s Eating

David Stern is just going to love this. Mavericks forward Tim Thomas is a suspect in an assault according to the Dallas Morning News. Hours after the Mavericks defeated the Suns last night, Thomas and a group of friends went to eat at Denny’s. Based on the police report, a fan approached Thomas to say “what’s up”. Thomas allegedly brushed him off, then started insulting him. The fan then responded back to Thomas and it escalated into a full on fight. One of Thomas’ friends, supposedly punched the fan twice in the face causing his lip to slit open. Then fan also said that Thomas threw a chair at his group.

Just taking a wild guess here. He’s GUILTY until proven innocent. RIGHT??? Some people see athletes and just think how can I get a lawsuit. It amazes me at all the stuff we here. They’re for the most part 99.9 percent wrong. It’s a bad stereotype. Again why does this make the blog? Let’s post up some positive stuff a few of the players do outside of ball. ALLEGEDLY.

I think this is good stuff. It makes the blog so dudes like me get a little entertaining NBA-related diversion during the otherwise boring work day.
Don’t mess with Tim Thomas when he’s enjoying his late-night Grand Slam at Denny’s! (Thomas threw the chair probably because he was pissed his group didn’t get a booth.)
(Just like you don’t mess with Kid Rock when he’s enjoying a late night breakfast at Waffle House in Atlanta.)

I have a hard time believing Thomas would react with insults to someone saying what’s up. I am sure the “fan” did something to instigate the chain of bad events.

Haha just another lesson in leaving celebs alone when you seem them. Some are cool when you approach, but others dont want anything to do with you. LOL the chair throw is a little extreme though.

I’d bet the fan chirped him rather than simply saying “whats up” … Something along the lines of telling Tim his meal was the only slam his had in years or asking him where his meal ticket was AKA Steve Nash

Just read the actual article. Interesting stuff! A couple of excerpts:
“Colleen Kissick, 29, the daughter of the woman struck by the chair, said and her mother had been out celebrating her mother’s 65th birthday.”
“One of the witnesses to the encounter was Roger Emrich, sports anchor for KRLD (1080 AM).” It will be interesting to hear his take on what happened.
I think going out to eat those pancakes is going to end up costing Tim some cabbage!
And Denny’s does suck. They don’t have Perkins out west?
