@9: the NBA disagrees as well considering the 9 Pac 10 players drafted in 2009, 13 1st rounders the last 2 seasons, 21 total the last 2 seasons from 9 of the 10 schools

@AB Exactly! A pure point guard isn’t ALWAYS looking to be THE MAN or to get his buckets a la Nic Wise/ poor man’s T.J. Ford.

Leave it to a Duck to know absolutely nothing about Pac-10 guards. Nic Wise is the furthest possible thing from a play-maker/pure point guard. I hate to admit it because I can’t stand him but ASU’s Derek Glasser is a MUCH better PURE point guard.

Wise should have passed the ball on Arizona’s last possession last night. He had two taller defenders glued to him from the moment he caught the inbounds and he still forced up a three that was predictably blocked. He had somebody open but I don’t think he even considered not taking the last shot. It won’t be long before Derrick Williams is the go-to guy on ‘Zona, though.

Man, we played him when we were going into our senior year in high school and he was still on the 15 and under Houston Hoops… Dude torched us. It was a sad day…

Clearly you really havent watched him play, hes Johnny Flynn without the athletic ability. When you average 4apg it doesnt get you a “Pure Point guard” label. BUt then again a pur point guard isnt popular anymore, these kids grew up watching A.I play the point/2.
