Fantasy Analysis: Allen Iverson Returns to the Sixers

Allen Iverson

Allen Iverson stomped his way out of Memphis, “retired” and now finds himself in an ideal situation back in Philly, where he’ll take over starting point guard duties. Let’s take a gander at the fantasy fallout: Read More »

Ron Artest Used To Drink Hennessy At Halftime; Still Wants To Fight Ben Wallace

Ron Artest

While the common NBA fan will never get to see what goes down in an NBA locker room, even for someone that frequents them, this is kind of crazy. In an interview running in the December 7th issue of Sporting News, Ron Artest admits to drinking during games when he was on the Bulls. Read More »

5 Random Observations From the Knicks Game

Larry Hughes

The Phoenix Suns show passed through New York City last night. While most people expected the Suns to run the Knicks out of the building, surprisingly, the opposite happened. The Knicks, who came into game with a 3-14 record, looked like a whole different team as they crushed Phoenix 126-99. I was in the Garden to witness this historic (in a way) event and here are five things that caught my eye. Read More »

Let Shannon Dunk

Not entirely sure who hands out the Slam Dunk Contest invitations, but they need to invite Shannon Brown right now. In order to influence the decision makers, the Los Angeles Lakers launched letshannondunk.com. The website includes an interview with Lamar Odom (who anointed Shannon Brown “Mr. Fantastic”), a question and answer section with Shannon, video and photo galleries. Check out the first highlight video produced by the site.

Daily Fantasy Diagnosis: 12.2

Ray Allen

Beast of the Night: Ray Allen produced his finest line of the season so far, putting up 27 points, 5 threes, 5 rebounds, 5 assists, 1 steal, 1 block and 1 turnover. He shot 67 percent (6-9) from the field and a perfect 10-of-10 from the free throw line. He remains a solid buy-low candidate and it’s nice to see him finding his game amid a difficult family situation. Read More »

Chris Webber Equates The Lakers To Raekwon

This is just utterly ridiculous. When Chris Webber was trying to find a way to describe the Lakers’ passing last night against the Hornets on NBA TV, he equated it to Raekwon and his song “Surgical Gloves.” Read More »

Danilo Gallinari Could Be Great (And Was Last Night)

In case you missed New York’s massacre of Phoenix last night, check out the highlights of Danilo Gallinari from last night’s game. Scoring from all spots on the floor, what impressed me the most was his block on Louis Amundson at the 2:00-minute mark.

It’s Official: Allen Iverson and Sixers agree to Deal

Allen Iverson

It’s official: A.I. is a 76er once again. This morning, Sixers President and General Manager Ed Stefanski announced that the franchise and Iverson have agreed to terms on a one-year deal, with Stefanski saying, “In light of the recent injury to Lou Williams, which will sideline him for close to eight weeks, we felt that Allen was the best available free agent guard to help us at this time.”

We’ll have further analysis as the day goes on, including fantasy ramifications, but what is my initial thought on the deal? Read More »

Who’s Better: Gerald Wallace or Josh Smith?

Gerald Wallace

We argue. You decide.

GERALD WALLACE (by Austin Burton) It bugs me when we get into these kind of arguments and somebody responds with, “(Player X), and it’s not even close.” That’s the dumbest thing you could say.

This isn’t Tennessee vs. UNC-Asheville. When comparing two professional ballplayers of at least borderline All-Star caliber talent, it’s always close. If it’s Kobe Bryant against Adam Morrison, sure, it’s not even close. If it’s Kobe against Ray Allen it’s close. Read More »

Blazers get the Bease-ness

Michael Beasley

You saw it coming almost right away. Three minutes into Heat/Blazers, Greg Oden picked up his second foul — a questionable call where he got tangled up with Jermaine O’Neal and both seemed equally at fault — and had to sit down. So with LaMarcus Aldridge (knee) already sidelined, that meant J.O. and Michael Beasley could go to work against Joel Przybilla and Dante Cunningham (plus a Juwan Howard extended cameo). And that meant when Portland’s D wasn’t giving up points to the bigs, they were leaving shooters open all over the arc. Throw in the fact that Portland started off cold offensively, and they were in an uphill battle right off the bat … Read More »
