Legend is a term that shouldn’t be thrown around loosely, something we lose track of on every level of basketball these days. Raymond Lewis and Earl The Pearl? Playground legends. Go Get It and The Pharmacist? No. It’s not a knock on the latter two, but they’re just not at that level.
If you watched last night’s 76ers/Mavs game, you heard a lot of talk about one legend (Allen Iverson) while seeing another legend (Jason Kidd) put in work on the court. Read More »

When comparing NBA players, fans always show bias. We all have players we hold above all others and will argue why they are better than another player or deserve an All Star bid more until we are blue in the face. We are often blinded by the player himself and use his past accomplishments as evidence for why he is so great today (remember the Gasol/Shaq debate ). Read More »

Beast of the Night: Jason Kidd found his shot last night and went off for 22 points, 5 treys, 6 boards, 11 dimes, 4 steals and 3 blocks. He shot 50 percent (8-16) from the field, 50 percent (1-2) from the line and turned the ball over twice. This was his best offensive output of the season so far and serves as a reminder of what the veteran is capable of, though not on a nightly basis. Read More »

Coming into this season, people were looking at this team as a sixth seed at best. Now that we are almost 20 games into the season, the 12-5 Mavs have been one of the league’s biggest surprises and Dirk Nowitzki has been the main reason why. The four-time all-star and former league MVP is enjoying perhaps his best season so far averaging 27.1 points (currently tied for fifth in the NBA), 8.6 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 1.2 steals and 1.6 blocks per contest. Whatever was said between Allen Iverson and the Philadelphia front-office brass when the two sides met in Dallas yesterday, A.I.’s case for joining his old team was no doubt strengthened by what happened when the Philly players ran into the Mavericks that same night. Starting Jrue Holiday at PG and Willie Green at SG, the Sixers backcourt was looking real thin while getting dominated by 36-year-old Jason Kidd (22 pts, 11 asts, 6 rebs, 4 stls, 3 blks) in every facet of the game and hit up by Jason Terry for the game-winner … Read More »
