Ron Artest on Kobe Bryant Not Tweeting: “Does God tweet?”

Ron Artest

I don’t need to tell you that Ron Artest quotes are pure nuggets of gold, but sometimes they just blow me away. He’s the equivalent of @RevRunWisdom, with hundreds of thousands of people eagerly awaiting his gospel. Today’s potent quotable concerns Ron’s teammate Kobe Bryant, and the two amazing performances he turned in last week after fracturing a bone in the middle finger of his shooting hand. Read More »

3 Possible Destinations For Nate Robinson

Nate Robinson

In the past few weeks, it seems the Knicks have found a winning formula and Nate Robinson isn’t one of the ingredients. Although he is perfectly healthy, the diminutive guard has not played in the Knicks’ last nine games due to coach Mike D’Antoni’s decision. In that stretch, the Knicks are 6-3 and when Nate is in the lineup, the team is just 0-9 when he scores 19 or more points. Whether or not those stats imply that the Knicks are better without Robinson in the lineup is debatable. But by the looks of D’Antoni’s actions, the coaching staff seems to think that’s the case. MVPuppets “L.A.” Foam Fingers

MVPuppets

Clearly people are feeling the new MVPuppet tees – especially the “L.A.” one. Well check what just hit the office: official MVPuppets “L.A.” Foam Fingers. Word is that these will be handed out at the Staples Center on Christmas Day as the Lakers take on the Cavs. If you’re lucky enough to have tickets to that game, hopefully you’ll be lucky enough to be waving one of these around. Kevin Love Is Back, Ready To Put People In The Hurt Locker

Kevin Love

For the first 18 games of the season, Kurt Rambis peered down the bench in search of something that could give his team any semblance of a spark. His lowly Minnesota Timberwolves were 2-17 and looking more like the Lake Michigan Admirals of the ABA, than a young NBA team on the rise. Enter Kevin Love. Read More »

The New MVPuppets Tees Are Fire

MVPuppets

Clearly you can see that our office (or maybe just me) has MVPuppet fever. From the Blitzen & Santa rap battles to the “Dunking On Reindeer” music video, I wish I could hang with Puppet Kobe and Puppet LeBron all day. (I may or may not have even garnered the nickname Lil’ Dez from some of my friends.) But if you’re looking to join the crew, it starts here with some of the holiday season’s must-have tees. Daily Fantasy Diagnosis: 12.21 (Weekend Wrap-Up)

Zach Randolph

Weekend Wonder: Zach Randolph was plain greedy this past weekend, averaging 29 points, 20 rebounds, 3 assists, 0.5 steals, 2 blocks and 3.5 turnovers in two games. He shot 59 percent from the field and 90 percent from the free throw line. Randolph even hit a three Sunday in a 32/24 performance. He continues to surprise this season but should probably be sold high right now. Read More »

What happened to the point guards in the East?

Gilbert Arenas

Last week, a reader commented on my All-Star snubs-to-be post that Gilbert Arenas should start for the East at point guard. Even as an Arenas supporter, I laughed when I read that. But just as I was preparing to rip into the guy’s idea — keep in mind, this was before Gil slapped 45 and 13 on G-State on national TV — I realized that it’s actually not too crazy. Read More »

Tony Allen Bangs One On Corey Brewer

After an amazing hustle play and defense from Eddie House, he throws the behind-the-back pass as he’s headed out of bounds to a sprinting Tony Allen for the cram on Corey Brewer. Wow!

The Wall Is An NBA Rookie’s Toughest Opponent

Brandon Jennings

It seems every year, rookies are getting more and more athletic. They’re jumping higher and running faster. But in the NBA track meet, unfortunately it’s a marathon, not a sprint. Start with training camp, where for a month straight you have two-a-day practices on top of eight preseason contests. Then you have that grueling 82-game grind that’s filled with long road trips, a dozen or so back-to-back games and infinite flights, hotels and bus rides. And if you’re on a good team, add another two weeks to two months of that routine to your season. Read More »
