Steve Nash Reminds You Why He Should Be An All-Star

Steve Nash would not be starting in the 2010 All-Star Game if voting ended today. The latest All-Star voting results were just announced and Nash is exactly 1,005 votes shy of the second guard spot in the West. That honor currently belongs to Tracy McGrady, who has played all of six games this season and is technically not even on the Rockets anymore. In order to make up the difference for the next round of voting, Nash just released this video of himself. It doesn’t exactly show him in his proudest moments but you’ve got to love his sense of humor.

    cmon, that awesome video is missing from the post

  2. Heckler says:

    who cares if he dont start?!!?
    as long as the coaches vote him in.

    when your career is over, your bio just mentions how many times you were an allstar; not how many times you were voted as a starter.

    so to me, it dont matter if a player starts or not. sheeeeit, it dont even matter if the fans do/don’t get the voting right. the coaches sure as hell better get it right.

    remember, the fans only select 10 starters; the coaches select FOURTEEN reserves!

    cause i’m…….

    ….Awesome.

    i thought this was going to be alot different. was a good video.

  4. K Dizzle says:

    Tracy McGrady huh?…..

  5. Orange says:

    @Hecler

    Tough choice as a coach to choose.
    Tony Parker
    Daron williams
    Chris Paul
    Chauncy Billups
    Jason Kidd

    i’m probably forgetting more. maybe not. but it’ll be a touch choice for coaches to choose.

  6. Ross says:

    If you wanna be an All-Star, go out and earn it. I’m tired of these videos of people begging for something they should be earning. IMO, Nash is too good to be begging.

  7. the cynic says:

    some of you guys are humorless retards

  8. isotope says:

    @Ross
    this was hardly begging for votes

  9. JM says:

    @Ross

    I think he is poking fun at those who make videos begging for votes. It sure wasn’t a Steve Nash highlight video.

    It was pretty funny.

  10. dagwaller says:

    TP = not making the All-Star game this year. I don’t think Nash will have a hard time getting voted in by the coaches.

  11. BiG ShoT BoB says:

    Fuck why aren’t we talking about this ridiculousness that is Tracy Mcgrady. How in the f*#k does this guy even get put on the ballot? They should have a new rule that you have to play a certain number of games to be even put on the ballot. I swear if this guy wins….who the fuck is voting for this guy anyway? Is half the city of Houston mentally retarded or what?

  12. Big Freeze says:

    First off, Ross, you’re a fucking idiot. Nash was making fun of the situation, not “begging” for votes. Try watching the vid next time, douche.

    Secondly, as Big Shit Bob put it, “who the fuck is voting for [Tmac] anyway?” I think it’s the billions of peeps in China who vote for Yao every year, and they vote for Yao’s teammate Tmac because that’s the only other name they recognize.

  13. Ross says:

    First off, Little Freeze, go fuck yourself. I saw the video and I know he was being funny. I didn’t directly say Nash was one of those guys, but he’s too good to do any video like this. I’m upset at the other people begging for votes. Try not being such a cynical dumb-fuck next time, douche.

  14. nycballa says:

    signs of the times. the nba will be dead in 2012.

  15. KL says:

    man…some of you guys take the comments too serious.
    @Ross
    I understood your initial msg. and you’re right. guys dont need to make videos to earn more votes. it should be earned on the court.

    that said. HEY TMAC (ya…i’m expecting him to read this comment), show some class and make a video of yourself telling ppl to STOP voting for you

  16. Octopus Jonny says:

    LOL @ Big Freeze callin BigShotBob “Big Shit Bob”

  17. BiG ShoT BoB says:

    @Octopus Jonny: Both are acceptable…LOL

  18. Tino says:

    LOL nice sense of humor

  19. jonny taise says:

    nash is funny!!!

  20. QQ says:

    @ 11:

    You really expect Dime to talk about T-Mac….? Got me thinking too.

    Damn, if it’s any other player, they will burn the cat like he’s the Maddoff of the NBA. But if it’s T-Mac, they will let it pass.

    Think about it.

    You know how I love posting at this site, but you know when things like this happens, it’s hard not to question Dime’s journalistic integrity. For the utter ridiculousness of the situation (All Star starter for a player who played in 6 games and averaged 4 points?), you somehow expect a basketball magazine to let out an outrage seeing that they are here for the love of the game, right? But, as we can see, they are letting this pass because of what? He’s one of their favorite players? They grew up watching him?

    And nice for you, cat, for pointing that out.

    PS: China is voting for him.

  21. Pet Society Help says:

    T-Mac votes are coming straight outta China, just like y’allz air force ones.

  22. snooprobb says:

    yeah, sure, China is voting for him… China is not this big pile of people who go “Oooh, Yao Ming… Oooh, Tracy McGrady, he name with Yao, he on same team, me vote him! yaeh! number1! yah go Rocket!” fuck me, the problem is dumbass’ in AMERICA voting for T-Mac cos they dont bother to follow the league but think they should vote for the All-Star game… retards.

  23. bob says:

    League leader in assists? Another 50-40-90 season? Making channing frye and dudley look like stars? He’s been making players look good his whole career. Heck, he even made Shaq look young and svelte. He deserves this start. cmon now.

  24. Zack says:

    You have to wonder if the lack of votes has anything to do with Nash’s Canadian status. just a thouht.
