the arguement that none of the top pg's can stop each other to make your point that Nash is the best is weak. There are many games when DWill stops his opposing pg, many times v Chris Paul and Steve Nash he's shut them down. I would have to say until Deron can consistently get his team wins as opposed to almost wins I'm going to agree that he isn't the best. Nash has some intangibles that come with time so if I had one game to win I'd probably go with Nash. dam.

A couple of points here. Carmelo does play defense and dida great job last year in the playoffs and still got his numbers. I only mention that bcuz someone said he doesn't play D. Another thing is Nash is a bad defender but his offense is state of the art.

There are plenty of guys that can defend better than he can that aren't anywhere near as impactful so which would you rather have? Unless a guy is a lockdown defender like a Payton, Kidd, or MR Richardson in their primes, then what's the point? You take your 18 and 11 w/ 50/40/90 and enjoy it.

The guy is an absolute freak of nature to be a dominant PG at 35 years old. Other than Stockton who also I classify as a lock defender in his prime, it's never been done before. Not Frazier, West, Oscar, Gus, Isiah, GP, Maravich, Pearl, never ever.

Kevin Johnson said he told Nash as a rookie that he was as good as anybody he had ever played with and he just needed to believe he was that good. I also like CP3 and think he's better when he's healthy and on his game and Deron is up there too but Nash has been killing for 10 years now

I know what the title says. I said Steve Nash is not as good as Deron Williams. I meant RIGHT NOW. Does this help clear things up? I sure hope my friend and neighbor.

NO HORNETS have a better % of wins withou CP3...
Cp3 team wins more games without him...

SUNS dont even with Amare and MARION the wouldnt won games...

SMARBURY SUNS were one of the worst teams in the NBA...

Just look at MArion stats...

Overated??
Let me ask you something whos a better 3point shooter RAY ALLEN or NASH...

RAY allen he is the real overated shooter, he doesnt have the same pressure like RMiller had, he misses a lot of sots alone (ALONE) finish games 0 from 7...

NO WAY:
His best season average was 43.4%...thats NASH carrer average...
Nash is in the 5th place list of all time 3point %...
Ray Allen is in 35 place and not for much more time TROY MURPHY is gonna pass him...

I agree with you all the way. You got the point highlighted there. The title is who's the best PG right now. People who are biased always point the weakness of a player but then he have compensated his weakness with other things. To overcome weakness, you have to master it and takes time and sometimes it's even impossible to overcome due to several factors like physical condition and likes. Nash definitely has bad back and he is 35 yrs old. He definitely is doing everything he can play defense by taking charges on the painted area. Come on guys. Ease up on the your emotions. Let's be objective when we are discussing things about basketball because letting emotions will definitely make argument prolong and drag on for no other reason than that you never love Nash's game. Thanks for taking time to read this out.

Let me help those, who for some reason cannot master the art of reading comprehension: the article is (even in it's title) about the best PG RIGHT NOW. This season. See? That's why it says best PG. Obviously, CP3 and Deron are (kinda) better in the long run, in the past few years and so on. Yes, Nash is a bad defender. By default, by reputation, by evidence and so on. But, most of you probably haven't watched too many Suns games this season: he is trying much harder (as is Amar'e) and is getting way less abused. He's not good by any means, but not as horrible as he was. And he really IS the best PG so far THIS YEAR. Does that help you clear it up? I sure hope friends and neighbours.

I love Steve Nash and am glad he is playing so well. He is one of my favorite players and he's still got it. But he's not as good as Deron Williams. And LakeShow 84, it's time someone had the balls to say it 'cuz it's true.

Steve Nash couldnt guard a phone booth. I refuse to believe that someone who gets his ass handed to him by 10 other point guards is the best in the game.

Stockton was known for his gritty defense as well as his play making abilities. Jordan and Malone both played defense as well. Steve Nash is a huge liability on defense because even a mediocre player can embarass him.

I like Nash, but I think Stern and every other dick rider just love him because he's white.
