We Reminisce: Jordan drops 33 pts, 13 asts, and “The Move” on L.A.

After watching Kobe Bryant slap 42 points on the Bulls and hand them a tough loss in a hard-fought game, I figured Chicago fans could use a pick-me-up. Here is some of Mike’s best work against the Lakers: Game Two of the ‘91 Finals, when he put up 33 points and 13 assists and unleashed “The Move.”

    The G.O.A.T.
Thanks Dime, this was a pick me up. Tired of watching the nightly abortion that is the Bulls.

Ahh, that’s refreshing. I’m going to go home and watch my Un-Stoppa-Bulls DVD collection all night. And cry… wearing my throwback Dave Corzin jersy that’s 3 sizes too small, and drinking a 7-11 big gulp, while forcing my kids to watch the video’s with me and admire what the Bulls used to be. Then i’m going to get some Mad Dog 20-20, and drunk dial BJ Armstrong and Pete Myers. It should be a fun night.

The coldest part of that move was how unnecessary it was…just being mean to em…lovin it. I always thought he was being challenged on the right when he made that move (minutes before practicing it in my driveway after), but my 10 year old memory is obviously faulty.

15-18 field goals. That is insane. How many of today’s 30 point scorers have that level of efficiency? LOVE the NBA on NBC montage…. classic.

    GOAT.

This is one of my favorite games, duke just went off, He destroyed Byron Scott.

  8. Ian says:

nice game from his airness but “the move” is overrated and unnecessary.

  9. Austin Burton says:

@Chicagorilla — Mad Dog 20-20? You’re alright with me, bruh.

  10. Hansosword says:

Ahhh the memories… MJ had his buzzer beater rattle out in game 1 and they lost the game. He came back with a vengeance.. Nobody ever attacked the rim like mike. Maybe wade..

The move wasn’t totally unnecessary. One of the angles showed that he held the ball up like he was going to dunk it, Perkins( I think) put his long arms out, Jordan then (palming the ball in mid-air)moves the ball slightly to the right to avoid Perkins, then as his momentum carried him, he decided to switch hands last second. He probably could have still dunked it with the right, but no-one can deny the greatness of the move.

I think what made it even more epic, was the fact that he has made 12 shots in a row. So the crowd was already in a frenzy, and ‘the move’ was like ‘damn, everything he throwing up is going in!’
