What an ending! After D-Wade stole the ball from Ray Allen and scored to give the Heat a 101-99 lead with 0.6 seconds left, you’d think the game was over. Well, let’s just say Rajon Rondo (and Paul Pierce with the perfect pass) had other plans. That’s why Doc Rivers is the best play caller in the NBA. Celtics ended up winning in OT.
Along with donning your first team-specific hoodie or hat, making your first bet, and filling out your first office pool, an important rite of passage for any sports fan is the first time you think, “I could coach this team,” and actually believe yourself.
We all think we know what would make our favorite team better. It’s why some people follow the offseason transaction wire more closely than the actual on-court product. Read More »
You kind of saw this coming. (On his 28th birthday no less.) Commissioner David Stern issued the following statement today:
“The possession of firearms by an NBA player in an NBA arena is a matter of the utmost concern to us. I initially thought it prudent to refrain from taking immediate action because of the pendency of a criminal investigation involving the office of the United States Attorney for the District of Columbia and the Metropolitan Police Department, and the consideration of this matter by a grand jury sitting in the District of Columbia. Adam Morrison is either awkward or has a weird sense of humor. A couple of nights ago during a Lakers blowout against the Mavs in the fourth quarter, Tim Thomas was on the free throw line. After making his first free throw, Thomas went to high-five teammate Kris Humphries, but instead, Morrison reached out and high-fived Thomas. Maybe Morrison wasn’t paying attention or maybe he just wanted to be funny -either way it was hilarious. The best is watching Phil Jackson’s reaction to the Morrison’s actions. This is the funniest high-five exchange at the free throw line next to Andrew Bogut high-fiving his imaginary teammates a few years back.
Forget Siskel & Ebert & Roeper, next time I’m looking for a movie critique I’m gonna hit up Ronny Turiaf. Check out as the Warriors’ energy guy reviews 2009 releases “The Hangover” and “Law Abiding Citizen.”
No way around it, Gilbert Arenas has been absolutely crucified in the press the past few weeks. After last night’s game against the Sixers, Agent Zero was obviously the center of attention with the large group of reporters present. If anybody saw those post game interviews, knows how big the gun incident has gotten. One particular journalist was very aggressive with Arenas and was basically interrogating the Wizards guard with a barrage of tough questions. Read More »
Beast of the Night:Stephen Curry orchestrated a beautiful line to the tune of 26 points, 6 threes, 5 rebounds, 6 assists, 3 steals and 2 turnovers. He shot 77 percent (10-13) from the field, hitting all six of his three-point attempts. His minutes and production has been erratic lately but the rookie’s been producing impressive all-around numbers lately and is an outright thief, averaging 2.4 steals per game during the last month.
