Love the three point shoot out. Seems like nobody can agree on who deserves to be in it and that makes it fun. I’d like to see a three point shoot out that simulates game conditions.

life-p – I am not even just talking about percentages year to year on the magic. Right now Lewis and Redick are about even.

Anyway you slice it up the NBA is dropping the ball in both of these events…slam dunk and 3 point shootout. Not sure how much I will watch either which sucks because I used to really look forward to this weekend.

Thanks JM. I was too lazy to check NBA.com for the acutal stats for the Magic. I figured it was between Redick/Lewis/Nelson for top 3pt. honors.

I agree with you as well regarding Gibson and House. I can’t imagine why theses guys were overlooked since they’re known for being 3pt. threats, even Ray Allen!

life-p you are right. JJ should be in the contest. I mean Paul Pierce? This is right in his wheelhouse. Where is Korver, Gibson, and Eddie House. Forget Dano and Frye. I would have loved to see how he stacks up with the others. His game is much improved and a nice playoff run last year gave him some good press. He is actually having a very productive season…one of the better season’s of anyone on the Magic.

FYI – He is the best 3 point shooter on the Magic…just doesn’t have the green light yet like Rashard does. When the time comes when he doesn’t have to look over his shoulder every time he does something to worry about getting pulled and just shoots the ball like he is capable…he is one of the best in the game. SVG is holding his game back a bit. If he was on another squad like Golden State or Pheonix he might be considered the best 3 point shooter in basketball.

But, Orlando is winning so can’t place too much blame. I just think SVG needs to run a play or 2 for him like most other coaches run for their specialists. Also, JJ needs to be a little more selfish at times. Many times when the ball swings around he has an opening but creates a little dribble drive or shot fake to give up to another open teammate.

Please tell me why JJ Redick is not in the 3pt. shooting contest. Granted, he’s probably not the best 3pt. shooter on his own team, but c’mon son! It’s freaking JJ Redick! He put the whole league on notice a few weeks ago when he made the statement, ” I have never lost a 3pt. shooting contest in my life…never.”
