I'm a hardcore Cleveland fan who has been watching Hickson for a while now. You guys need to stop the hating and get on board. He's good, really good. At just 19 minutes a game, he gets about 8 points and 5 boards as a sophmore. And while he may benefit from LeBron's passing gift, you also have to remember he has to share points and rebounds with the other great players the Cavs have. Give him a little time, and I promise all you haters will be sorry. He could be as good as Amare.

* Amare's dee is highly underrated.. As the main big n basically only big man on a team who's offense is based around a point guard who run's the court n expect's a shot within the first 15 seconds from the rebound, as a coach, your obviously not looking to win by playing defense, Hence, *NO CHIP*.. As we all know defense wins CHAMPIONSHIPS! With Amar'e out of the game, their whole offense get's switched up from the pace, to the tempo that Nash wants to play at. With Lopez in their, i can see Nash getting frustrated waiting for ol' boi to catch up. Bottom line, Mar's strategy is to stay in the game as long as possible, while outscoring other teams, rather than stop them from scoring. ONce again, hence the lack of defensive intensity. N don't even get me started on how the NBA's restriction on defense obviously to market the athleticism of the player's and marketing that to the masses. Hence, you get the picture

*With that said, Amar'e would be a good fit if the offense was run thru Lebron as the Nash, looking to score off the rebound everytime instead of holding it up for a half court setup. As a fan, i would love to have watched the way they would bring showtime every game, averaging 110ppg.

*When they did run the half court offense, they would have Amar'e one on one on the block either hitting that 15 foot jumper consistantly, or pump faking and ramming it on any dude in his way.

In what way COULD Hickson be any way near Amar'e as an overall player. I mos definitely see the ahteleticism in JJ resembling that of Mar, but his jumper is not even close to that of Mar. Any NBA athlete can play defense, but that doesn't get them endorsements, money, popularity, no marketability for a defensive player. All it adds up to is recognition as a great defensive player. As we do know now that the Donaghy case came bout, David Stern despised Bowen for shutting the star, messing with all the marketability in the game therefore drop in the ratings.

BOTTOM LINE, DEFENSE IS HIGHLY OVERRATED IN THE NBA. ALL IT GETS YOU IS A SEAT ON THE SIDELINE, N BAD REP WITH THE BOSS. THIS IS A BUSINESS, AND DEFENSE ISN'T MARKETED IN THE NBA OF THER THAN THEIR HYPOCRITE F*IN COMMERCIAL. SO WHY IS AMAR'E BEING HATED ON FOR THIS??? NO RELEVANCY WHAT SO EVER!!!

AMARE COMPARED TO JJ HICKSON??? THEIR SHOULD B NO COMPARISONS THEIR, UNLESS YOU ARE MEASURING VERTICAL LEAPS. WOW, JJ HAS HAD A FEW HIGHLIGHTS ON D-WADE, I BET U 8 OTHER TIMES JJ WOULD OF GOTTEN CRAMMED ON!!!

AMAR'E IS TOP 3 POWER FORWARD IN THE LEAGUE RIGHT NOW, AND LOOKING TO BE THE TOP WITHIN 5 YEARS WITH TIM DUNCAN AND K.G. AGING EVERY GAME BEFORE OUR EYES.

NEXT IN LINE, BLAKE GRIFFIN!!! BUT HE'LL BE CRAMMING ON DUDES N HITTING PURE JUMPERS, BUT HE'LL GET OUSTED FOR NOT BLOCKING GUARDS COMING TO THE HOLE....

this dude aint no horace grant. Horace knocked down the elbow jumper when he had to. Plus I'm inclined to think dude has small hands. He always finished with 2 hands, even on a breakaway. His athletic ability is nice and all but this collage is a product of his teammate's creative ability than his own. Bottom line, above average role player. Suitable for a Lebron-led squad.

I've been saying this for a while.... in fact I think I said it on this site and you guys stole the idea from me. He's not Amare, but he's Amare lite and he could get better with time, I like the fact that he always looks to attack the basket, he's really the type of complementary player that Lebron needs. I still think they need a shooting guard, but by keeping Hickson and still managing to get Jamison they are going to be a huge problem, especially once they get Z back. But if JJ can add a 15 foot jumper to his arsenal, he will be basically giving them what they would expect from Stoudamire, obviously not as much of it, but also minus the ego. And he might actually work harder on defense.
