J.J. Hickson Smashes One on Dwyane Wade
As loyal Dimemag.com reader Sans commented in today’s Smack, you could make the argument that Dwyane Wade actually pulled back in mid-air instead of really going after J.J. Hickson’s dunk on this clip. But when it comes down to it, hasn’t Wade dunked on enough people to know how this usually turns out?
We were talking last night about how Hickson, who is listed at 6-9 (but in reality is probably 6-6 or 6-7, would be looked at like a budding superstar as opposed to an energetic role player if he was two inches taller.

My respect for Dwyane has grown some. He’s building a rep for being fearless when it comes to challenging shots/dunks. That dunk surprised me, I thought he was going to get that one.

Wade tried to meet him at the rim, instead of speeding up to stop the one man fast break (wade is fast enough and could of stopped him at the three point line, esp given hicksons faulty dribbling..which is apparent)but instead chose the entertainment route, thinking he was getting a sportscenter highlight, which he did. Just on the other end. Still much respect for Wade after getting beasted.

Yeah Yoda you got a point, but all people care about now is highlights. Even though Wade did what he was supposed to, it’s all about “Wade got dunked on!” (Reggie Miller said “Welcome to JJ Hickson’s kodak moment…click click!” lol) Just like when Wade got “dunked on” by Lebron.

And dime, No an argument cannot be made that he pulled back mid-air. Not even close…that should have even been an and-1, but he got the benefit of the doubt on that one.

Actually Lakeshow, Lebron very rarely gets dunked on, and the one time it did happen it was EVERYWHERE. Meanwhile, when Lebron gets dunked on nobody gives him props like everyone is giving Wade props here.

Gotta give Wade credit for going up instead of just sneaking out of the frame like most pussies do now. He didn’t pull back for shit, he was FULLY trying on that one, he just missed getting his hand in the right spot (actually over shot it).
Mules is right, if that was Wade doing the dunking, Hickson would have been getting a flagrant and maybe a suspension, haha. I’m actually surprised the refs didn’t call a charge on Hickson…
