LeBron & Dwight’s New McD’s Commercial
Last week, we gave you a sneak peek of LeBron & Dwight’s new McD’s commercial. Right before the kickoff of the Super Bowl last night, it was finally unveiled.
Most of the reaction in the office was that they could have done much better. What do you think?

Nothing beats the original, but this was pretty funny. It was better than about 95% of the other commercials. Was it just me, or were there some lame commercials this year? Maybe it’s the economy…there were, however, many many beer commercials. Guess the economy doesn’t hurt beer-drinking. lol

I thought it was believable. I believe that LeBron has no idea who Larry Bird is, because Bird never played on “a LeBron James team.”
I think one of the better commercials was the one that had Betty White playing football and saying “oh yeah? that’s not what your girlfriend says.”

Should have been Kobe and Lebron, seeing as those two have the whole rivalry thing going… And it would have been nice to see a few real dunks before they upped the ante with the NBA jam ones. Kinda like how Jordan and Bird started with realistic shots, and progressively got more outlandish(off the backboard, through the roof, etc etc).
And how could Jordan not be in this???

It wasn’t the classic but it was still good. I enjoyed it.
Dwight and Lebron are about as much of rivals as Larry and MJ were. So the rivalry thing didn’t bother me at all.
Holy hell Larry hasn’t aged well. Not that he was ever GQ but whoa!
I agree that they could have started out with “real” dunks before it went to the outlandish ones.
But overall I enjoyed it.

as for Jordan not being in it. Come on guys, you all know he was pulling some “diva” move and either wasn’t getting paid enough or he is now a Burger King endorser. Not surprised at all that he wasn’t in it.

This Dwight and LeBron one could have been left on cutting room floor. If anything I didn’t see a Nike MVPuppets commercial that most def. should have aired during superbowl. They should have put Kobe and LeBron puppets in football pads. That would have been crazy.
Anyway yea they (Bron and Dwight) should have left this alone.

Maybe not, but because Kobe and Lebron do have a rivalry, it would have added another layer to it. And in my opinion, Bird and Jordan were more rivals or associated with one another than Dwight and Lebron. It was basically the trio of Jordan, Bird, and Magic in the 80’s that captivated the league, so any combination of those 3 has more significance that Lebron and Dwight. Hell, remember Jordan vs Bird?

Once again, people taking it too seriously. It’s not like the shots Jordan and Bird were making in their ad were realistic (“Off the expressway…”), and I don’t think those two were bringing comedy gold, either. And I think McDonald’s dropped Kobe after the Colorado thing, right? LeBron and Dwight made a fun commercial.

Pretty fun commercial. I actually loved it.
And to those people saying ‘THEY DON’T KNOW WHO BIRD IS?!?!?!?! THAT MAKES ME MAAADDDD!!!’, come on people. That’s part of the whole act. Dammmit.
