Sneak Peek: LeBron & Dwight’s New McD’s Commercial

Check out the exclusive sneak peek from the much-talked-about new McDonald’s commercial featuring LeBron James and Dwight Howard. For those who remember the 1993 version, this might look familiar. Tune in to CBS before the kickoff of Super Bowl XLIV to see the rest.

LeBron and Dwight, both former McDonald’s High School All-Americans, star in the new commercial titled, “Check This.” In case you were wondering, the new TV spot also features a cameo of Larry Bird, and Joe Pytka, the commercial director for the original 1993 Super Bowl spot, also filmed the latest remake.

So Lebron shoots a free throw and the game is over?

  2. Chaos says:

not so fast, he aint that great of a free throw shooter either, so it aint automatic….i would have used melo or maybe d-wade….all of them got personality….

  3. control says:

I remember seeing a huge thing on LeBron and how he won’t back a company who doesn’t fit his exact ideals, and produce a product that he would personally feel comfortable using. About how he doesn’t just pitch a product, how he establishes relationships with companies and makes their interest his interest and truly cares about the product he is promoting.

That being said, does anyone anywhere in the world think LeBron has the body he does by pounding down fucking McDonalds? I’m losing a lot of respect for this guy lately, can he do even ONE thing he says he will and stand up for what he says he does?

  4. Austin Burton says:

@control — I see what you’re saying, and while I don’t think LeBron is “pounding” McDonald’s, I don’t see why he wouldn’t have an occasional Quarter Pounder or something on the road. Even the most staunch workout freaks will have “cheat days.”

  5. control says:

    AB

Yeah, no doubt everyone has a “cheat day” (everyday is cheat day for Lamar Odom)…but I just think it’s kind of two faced to be presenting the image LeBron is instead of being straight up.

He could be like “Know why I’m doing this here McDs commercial? Cause they are paying me more money than some country’s GDP, mwhaha!” instead of that fake “I sincerely believe in the product that McDs puts out there.”. It’s business, I know (I’d honestly do same thing in his shoes), but it’s still annoying.

  6. Claw says:

Cmon dude is 23 and has a kid so he’s definitely hitting the golden arches.

Should have done a Swenson’s commercial and they fight over a galley boy and mint shake. Damn I miss that grub in Akron.

  7. SparkyJay23 says:

    @Control

Jusy imagine everything he does off court is solely for the money, every utterance is only to further his off court goal of being the first basketball billionaire and it will mostly make sense.

The media want him to succeed because he sells their product – Dime included.

I’d think nothing passes his lips that isn’t cooked by a personal chef/dietitian – that what i’d expect – no cheat days

  8. logicle says:

This is the funniest thing…DWIGHT and LEBRON are playing horse against each other?!?! The two guys who would lose in that game to any middle schooler in america? Jesus, mcdonalds has lost it.

  9. Austin Burton says:

Y’all are looking at it too seriously. Even if LeBron doesn’t eat McDonald’s now — and I wouldn’t be surprised if he does partake every now and then — you know he ate it when he was younger. And he also grew up watching those Jordan/Bird (or Kobe) McD’s ads and maybe just always wanted to do one. Asked to do something that sounds fun, and you’ll get paid? Can’t get on his case too hard for that.

  10. Austin Burton says:

And why is nobody giving Dwight a hard time? If anybody is the workout/diet freak, it’d be him.

  11. control says:

I don’t think anyone is giving Dwight a hard time because he isn’t presenting himself quite the same as LeBron.

I honestly don’t have an issue with LeBron chasing the money, if McDonalds would pay me $100 to say I love their food I’d fucking take it and not miss a wink of sleep. I just find it ironic that he is always presenting himself as something other than that. There is not one athlete in the world who can honestly say that McDonalds is a good product that will help you succeed in any sport (sumo wrastlin excluded, though their diets are VERY strict).

It’s the same as when a new LeBron shoe drops from Nike. You think he’d have an issue if it was absolute garbage (like Ron Artests, lol) and he would step up and say something about it? All those guys like Kobe, LeBron, MJ who have been interviewed by Dime have all said along the same lines of “I helped design the shoe, I stand behind it, I wear it and I love it”. I just think the same standards should be held when promoting shit like food.

  12. Bizz says:

LeBron eats junk food. A friend of mine said his bro saw LeBron, Mo Williams and a f**ked up light skin dude walking out of Wendy’s (Delonte West) when he was in Toronto last year. lol

  13. QQ says:

I’ll post this to all articles to get your attention Dime).

    Dammit here we go again….

You fucking classless losers trying to use my name again.

    @ LakeShow:
That was not me, bro. That was a faker. You know how I love Kobe’s game. If I were not a Magic fan, I would be one of you. Because of Kobe.

Dammit Dime. Serously. Can’t yall just fucking regulate the site so that things like this won’t happen? SERIOUSLY? Aren’t there administrators to stop people using the names of other people?

If these things continue to happen, I have no choice Dime fam. I have to leave these forums. And I’ll always blame the administrators for that.

@ AB: Holla at a long time reader, bro. Seriously. I know you could fix things of these sort. Holla at me, bro.

  14. s.bucketz says:

look at wat dave chappelle said…he doesnt even kno wut hes plugging sometimes..he did pepsi and coke commercials…Lebrons tryin to make a billi and why not do it wit McDonalds, one of the most well known franchises in the entire world

  15. s.bucketz says:

and wow QQ calm your titties son…i think Tyrone’s been having his good name slandered all over this site and he dont complain…he jus keeps dishin them dopey dimes yall

  16. flegman says:

Dwight will channel Bird and say: “No jumpshots” btw LeBron’s outfit is far better than the one MJ had, lol

  17. weng santos says:

Exactly. Some guys taking this too seriously.

You think DWade really wants to be in Charles barkley’s Fave Five for real like they implied in that TMobile ad?

And why wouldn’t Bron down a fastfood burger every now and then? Work out like him and you can eat anything and get away with it. I don’t think he’d enjoy working out if all he could have was salads and protein shakes.

  18. karizmatic says:

All athletes eat a lot of garbage and junk food, they might not do it all the time, but you’d be surprised what kind of diet you can get away with as a young athlete. It’s when you get older that you have to REALLY start watching what you eat. But you guys really are taking it way too seriously.
