  2. Heckler says:

    Double-Dribble!!

  3. Heckler says:

    Double-Dribble!!
…what yall young boys know ’bout that?!!?

  4. Spliff 2 My Lou says:

Cool video. Really takes me back. But that song is garbage.

  5. Geoluhread says:

NBA Live 2005 is when they first got the three point and dunk contest in.

the nba street games come close. along with NBA hangtime for the 64, NBA on NBC for the dreamcast, , NBA2K2 because of the franchise mode, and i didn’t get much exposure for Double dribble instead playing SuperMario Bros 3, Contra, and i forgot the name of it but it was a jet fighting game.

but live 05 is my favorite. i don’t play them much with the newer games and don’t play live anymore. 2K is the only basketball game i play now. it just the excitement to try the dunk contest in a game. the excitement i don’t have for it anymore.

  6. Boombaby says:

Yeah I remember Double dribble! Family Computer! hahaha when you shoot close to the rim automatically the screen will change showing the player dunking.. Old school.. Time goes by so fast damn…

  7. Heckler says:

    any of yall remember:

    Bulls vs Blazers?
    Bulls vs Lakers?

  8. bsteezy3 says:

@ Heckler–I remember those classics, I was on that Lakers vs Celtics too!

What about that Jordan vs Bird? Takin’ it Ol Skool…

  9. LFan says:

Did dime ever award out the prizes for the last two contests?

  10. Prof. TX says:

I spent a lot of time on NBA Jam. Hakeem, Maxwell, and Horry were my squad.

    “From downtown… He’s on fire!”

  11. shake&bake says:

The best bball game was Arch Rivals for Nintendo. You could beat the shit out of the other team.

  12. Geoluhread says:

OOOOOOOHHH!!!! shake&bake got the best bball game. i can’t believe i forgot about that game. pushing your shooters all over the court. i remember back when i was about 6-8 for a basketball camp and the morning before i left i played that game with my cousin and we woke up his parents laughing at 8 am. good game. good game. unless i’m thinking about another game

  13. Shotzzz says:

Bulls vs Blazers and that damn Tom Chambers dunk from the three point line.

  14. Dray7 says:

    nba give and go, super-nes

  15. bsteezy3 says:

Double Dribble was the classic though. there was another game that used to give close ups too. I think it was called HOOPS(?) Charles Barkley, and David Robinson had a game for Sega too… Y’all young’uns don’t know nothin’ bout that…

  16. bsteezy3 says:

Tecmo Basketball (tried to bring that out when Tecmo Bowl was out)

  17. eyes says:

Does anybody remember Ultimate Basketball for Nintendo?
What about IN The Zone for Playstation the original. Penny Hardaway was crazy in that one. N.B.A. Streetz the 1st one was crazy too.

Jordan vs Bird was classic. I don’t think remember how ill that game was. The Dream Team game with the Jordan rock the cradle was dope too.

Bulls vs Blazers & Lakers. Do you remember when you shot the ball from the other end of the court & had your center keep tipping it in? Classic Memories

I’ll always remember Double Dribble though. It was the cherry. The Chicago Ox,Boston Frogs,New York Eagles,
What were the other team names

  18. Soopa says:

I played NBA Live 95 with Horry on the cover. I think that was my first NBA game. Didnt take much to get me excited back then lol

The music in the clip is hilarious! RICKY BOBBY!

  19. SparkyJ23 says:

Lakers V Celtics, Bulls v Blazers and then David Robinson’s Supreme Court that was bad. Team USA Basketball was the 1st I remember Really enjoying. NBA Jam of course. now its all about 2K10 MyPlayer

  20. Geoluhread says:

the name of barkleys game s was “Shut up and jam” Barkley pippin the dream, not sure if jordan was in the game. those are the only ones i remember in that game.

  21. Geoluhread says:

….one question though…is there anyway i can up the difficulty on “my player”? it seriously tends to get boring on “pro”.

  22. Brown says:

    My Top 5:

    NBA Jam
    NBA Showdown for SNES
    Bulls vs. Blazers
    Double Dribble (classic)
NBA Live ’95 (when I realized you could throw alley-oops, it was a wrap)

  23. Rodney says:

That’s one of the most annoying songs I’ve ever heard.

  24. Scoob says:

    Great video! Wack ass song…

  25. loc says:

NBA Live 95 changed the game back in the day!!!

NBA Jam was on the most fun games ever, tghe quotes in that

  26. Nyeme says:

NBA Live ’96 when you had ALL of the rookies and great that weren’t in the game as hidden players.

But my FAVORITE is Coach K

  27. 808 says:

    Coach K….HELLLLL YAH.

We used to wear out my boy’s controllers on his Sega back in college…That was the s#!t. All the dudes in the dorm yelling, “I got next!” And then you sneak another game when dude not looking. Good times…

Shiiiet…now you know how long my old-ass has been on this earth.

  28. AllThatJazz/Amar says:

the original was Lakers vs. Celtics (before Bulls vs Blazers) which was complete with the nba playoffs, and the 1987-1988 rosters. guys had signiture moves (nique’s dunks, kareem’s sky hook), and you had full 12 man rosters.

for the ibm pc, in stunning 4 color graphics.

somehow guys think that the series started with the bulls, which is pathetic.

  29. bsteezy3 says:

Yeahhhhh, those hidden players in Live ’96 made that game tha shiznit!

  30. eyes says:

Coach K with the breaking of the Backboards. I was UMASS all day with Camby,Lou Roe & Travieso. Coach Cal I see you. Dana Dingle(NYC) UNC was dope though. That might have been the craziest game.

  31. Tom James says:

sweet video, hope i can use my clinton code for the new nba jam. check out the “evolution of american football” and “soccer” vids too. Bring back the memories.
