Upset Alert: West Eastern State
Perhaps it’s just the madness, but this video is hilarious. Trust me, it’s worth watching this the whole way through.

Don’t worry, we still think Michael Beasley can be a top-10 superstar, but it is true that B-Easy is getting a new job. This Friday, adidas is putting Beasley to work as a Champs Sports employee at Aventura Mall in Miami to get fans excited about the new, Official NBA Shop at Champs Sports. Trading in his Miami Heat duds for a Champs uniform, the second-year star will be personal shopper for a few lucky fans and work behind the register. If you’re in the area, this is something you certainly don’t want to miss. Read More »

For years in the NBA when you thought of the fastest player in the League, it was Allen Iverson. But the Answer got older and it seems that guards somehow got even faster. In the current issue of HOOP Magazine, Hornets rookie Darren Collison came out and said that he’s at the top of the list: “I definitely think I’m the fastest player. I got a chance to watch Ty Lawson‘s game and he is probably up there. I’d definitely say I’m the fastest.” Whether or not you believe the rookie is up to you, but here’s my list of the NBA’s top 10 fastest players. Read More »

Beast of the Night: LeBron James followed up his triple-double in Detroit with 32 points, 2 threes, 9 boards, 9 dimes, 3 steals, 2 blocks and 6 turnovers. He shot 46 percent (11-24) from the field and 80 percent (8-10) from the line. Nobody does it better. Read More »

Wherever you stand on Chris Bosh‘s status (or non-status) as a legit superstar in the League, he was definitely a superstar when he had to be last night. Dealing with double-teams almost every time he touched the ball against Atlanta, Bosh produced a modest 14 points (6-19 FG) and 10 boards, but in crunch time he delivered against one of the NBA’s best front lines … Toronto was down four with under a minute to go before Bosh beasted Josh Smith in the paint for a hook shot. Then after Smith missed a layup, the Raptors got the exact scenario they wanted: Read More »

Happy St. Patty’s Day to everyone out there! I figured today would be the perfect day to post my first assessment of this year’s Tournament field, and for three reasons: (1) because people will be drunk enough to actually read what I am about to write, (2) because when I don’t get enough comments I can blame it on you people being too drunk to type, and (3) because if any of what you’re about to read turns out to be completely wrong, I can blame it on myself being drunk. Which I’m not, or am I… Read More »

My favorite team wore green, too. No, the Seattle Supersonics don’t perfectly blend into the St. Patrick’s Day theme — we damn sure aren’t lucky, although the whole situation does make you feel like drinking sometimes — but I’m going to steal Aron’s idea anyway and commemorate the holiday with my 10 favorite Sonics: Read More »

Word of God Academy (Raleigh, N.C.) forward C.J. Leslie is a Top-10 prospect nationally. Previously committed to N.C. State, Leslie re-opened his recruiting and has opted to wait until the spring to decide on a college. That alone makes his one of the most intriguing stories in the 2010 class, and Leslie also happens to be one of its most exciting players. C.J. has agreed to give Dime and High School Hoop exclusive access in a regular diary about his season and the recruiting process as he inches closer to a decision. For his latest entry, C.J. has brought in fellow Class of 2010 star Ryan Harrow to help him out. Here’s an excerpt: Read More »

In a statement released by the League this morning, the NBA Board of Governors has unanimously approved the acquisition by Michael Jordan of a controlling interest in the Charlotte Bobcats. As for changing the name, unfortunately that’s not going to happen. Read More »

After posting up Corey Brewer‘s posterization of Robin Lopez on the site this morning, a few people have been debating in the office, on our site and on Twitter about which Brewer dunk was better: Last night’s dunk on Lopez or December’s humiliation of Derek Fisher. But rather than yelling at each other during lunch, we figured we’d put the two dunks back-to-back and let the DimeMag.com faithful decide. Read More »
