My Top 10 Favorite St. Patrick’s Day Kicks

Nike Foamposite Lite - "Krypto-Nate" (2009)

The NBA isn’t the only one coming out with the gear special for St. Patrick’s Day. Clearly if you want to go out rocking green, it shouldn’t be limited to just your shirt. Culling through the archives of the past few years, I’ve put together a visual list of my top 10 favorite St. Patrick’s Day kicks. Check it out below: Read More »

NCAA Tournament Players To Watch: East Region

Wake Forest's Ishmael Smith

After going through the Midwest, South, and West regions, we’ll wrap up the NCAA Tournament Players to Watch with four from the East region:

ISHMAEL SMITH, Wake Forest, PG, Sr. These past four years must have felt like 10 for Smith. He came to Wake as the heir apparent to Chris Paul, but after leading the ACC in assists as a freshman — something CP3 never did in college — he and the program were rocked by the death of coach Skip Prosser. My Top 10 Favorite Celtics Of The Past 25 Years

Boston Celtics

In honor of St. Patrick’s Day and the fall of my beloved franchise, I thought I’d take a look back at some of the better times. From the day I was born I’ve been a Celtics fan, and the past 25 years have brought a whole cast of characters through the green and white. But among all the All-Stars and Hall of Famers, here are the 10 that stick out in my mind. Read More »

Daily Fantasy Diagnosis: 3.17

LeBron James

Beast of the Night: LeBron James slammed down a triple-double in Detroit to the tune of 29 points, 12 rebounds, 12 assists, 1 steal, 1 block and 4 turnovers. He also hit a three and shot 46 percent (10-22) from the floor and 73 percent (8-11) from the line. Boom goes the dynamite. Read More »

NBA St. Patrick’s Day Collection

Derrick Rose

When it comes to holidays in the NBA, St. Patrick’s Day has to be up there. And I’m basing this statement off of one thing: the jerseys. The League is very selective in the special jerseys that they drop throughout the season, so the St. Patrick’s Day Collection is one you don’t want to miss – and only three teams get the honor with the special threads. Corey Brewer Posterizes Robin Lopez

After Austin’s list of the Top 15 NBA In-Game Dunkers from Monday, I’m pretty sure that Corey Brewer must have been furious that he was all the way down at No. 9. There’s really no one that has consistently produced more posters than him. As for Robin Lopez, after THIS, he’s just having a bad week. Check out the vicious dunk after the jump. Read More »

The 10 Luckiest Players in the NBA

Daniel Gibson

One thing I’m going to miss this St. Patrick’s Day is staying up all night by force, not by choice. Last March 17, we were living literally right next door to an Irish pub; since then we’ve moved to a condo across the street and just out of earshot of the tragic karaoke renditions of “Sweet Caroline.”

For that, I’d say I’m lucky. But my kind of lucky isn’t close to NBA-player lucky; there are no eight-figure contracts involved when regular people get lucky. So on this St. Patrick’s Day, we have the 10 luckiest players in the NBA… Read More »

LeBron gets a little help from his (zebra) friends at The Palace

LeBron James

Watch your head, because the LeBron Haters Street Team is gonna be out in full force today. Although LBJ posted a triple-double (29 pts, 12 rebs, 12 asts) and hit some big-time daggers down the stretch to lead the Cavs past Detroit, it’s the one blocked shot on his stat sheet that’s causing problems … With 1:30 to go in the fourth, Detroit was down three and Will Bynum was on his way in for a breakaway layup. Of course that’s when LeBron came flying into the picture to smack the ball off the backboard. Chalk up another Top-10 highlight and MVP resume-builder, right? Not quite. Read More »

NBA Sophomore Class vs. The Rookies: Who’s Better?

Russell Westbrook

I’ve said it before and I’m saying it again: In just about every sport, you can’t accurately judge a draft class for at least three years after the fact (and longer than that in baseball).

Going into the ’09 NBA Draft, everybody decided early that the class was weak, but look around the League now. Tyreke Evans and Stephen Curry look like certified future superstars, while Brandon Jennings isn’t far behind. Read More »

Corey Edwards & Omar Calhoun: The Kings of Queens

Corey Edwards & Omar Calhoun

As you walk through the doors of Christ the King Regional High School in Middle Village, N.Y., you can’t help but notice the athletic wall of fame. The display case features the retired jerseys of Christ the King basketball legends like Lamar Odom, Sue Bird and Chamique Holdsclaw. Behind the glass lies a legacy of basketball excellence, and that legacy prevails through junior point guard Corey Edwards and sophomore shooting guard Omar Calhoun. Both players have the potential to join that legendary group one day, being remembered as some of the best players to ever grace the court at such a storied program. Read More »
