Stephon Marbury Sinks Threes In China From Coney Island
By now you’ve probably heard that Stephon Marbury took home MVP honors the other day in the Chinese Basketball Association’s All-Star Game. Among the 30 points that he dropped are these three ridiculous treys in less than a minute from deep beyond the arc.
Where do you think his career goes from here?

I agree, it’s nice to see him ballin and smilin. Much better than watchin him eat vaseline!
I had hopes when he came to NY. I would have liked to see a NY point guard leading the Knicks into the post season. Too bad, too bad.

My hubby (Poppi Gee) been saying that dude should have went overseas at least over half a year ago. Personally I think it’s some others that need to go overseas and start fresh as well.

This is what happens when you play for the New York Knicks. Life is never the same. I agree Steph wasn’t the same player but the way the organization treated him was just as crazy. It’s funny how these coaches & owners think they could treat people how they please. A coach could damn near slap a player & be fined maybe. A player does the same or Retaliates. Forget it blackballed or typecasted. I still want to know what Carlesimo did for Sprewell to choke him like that.
I’m not one to believe he just flipped or was some punk or thug like he was portrayed. Them OJ’ed him out the league. If at first you don’t succeed. Knock them out & try them again. Literally. Don’t let the plane fly over the head.
I hope Steph gains his happiness & could make his father proud in heaven. He did a lot for his family & fans. While also having a H.O.F. carrer stats wise. Too bad the negative media & the way his career unfolded. It may be consumed by the latter. A great guard who in his prime. Gave all the best:Kidd,Payton,Parker fits. One of GT’s finest to rock the colors. His career is like Baron Davis. With all that talent they were never lucky enough to play for a team talented enough to win the whole thing.
He was definitley cursed for leaving KG & Minn. God paved the way for a perfect & dominating 1-2 punch. He probably just wanted to be close to his family & friends. It sure is hard to take your environment & upbringing out of the person. What makes each race succesfull & fail at their goals. The path & foundation set from birth. Usually when a person fails. Look no further than the trail he traveled.
God Bless Mr. Marbury & his demons. Sometimes less is better. The Media & all the haters need stories like these to be relevant. Where would people be if they couldn’t down others. People live for that. Sad they hate their life so much they must bring other down.

my guess is that Antoine Walker is currently weighing in at 330 lbs. and is 0 for 43 from the field in PR (all threes). i’m sure AP will post a highlight when Walker finally makes a shot.

those are like shooting from about 2 feet behind an NBA 3pt line. Guys like Eddie House see that sort of shot as a high percentage look.
Steph is the epitome of wrong way basketball. a dude with crazy skills but no idea how to implement them properly, he could never run a team or turn his skills into W’s and destroyed every team he ever played for. His Chinese team didn’t even make the playoffs for fucks sake.

just for the record, he is lighting it up here in China. Dude is massive popular here, both for his skills and for his leadership qualities (damn right i just said that). Everyone is extremely impressive with starbury, which is kinda unbelievable that he couldn’t make it at home, but thousands of miles away he comes a legend.

I’ve watched Marbury play ball since he was 10 (I was 14). To see him play for my beloved Knicks was great. To see us lose terribly with bad coaches and make him the scapegoat, was sad.
One thing. He never lost shit. D’antoni and whoever else that thought that was obviously determined to shit on Marbury. Look at him. Physically, he looks great. The 30 foot jumpers is his signature.
Its a shame that some of you choose to be sarcastic or funny. Just look at how happy he is. If you a baller, a true baller, you love this. A guy is getting his chance to ball. Not sit on the bench and watch Duhon and Nate, some dudes that will never have an ounce of Marbury’s skill.
Saying he never made anyone better is stupid. So neither did Charles Barkley, or DWade, or Chris Bosh, or Domnique Wilkins. Not every star makes others better. Who did David Robinson make better?
I will always be a StarBury Fan, from since pre-Lincoln days. just glad some of got to see a NON NBA or ESPN clip of Marbury. Frank Isola is probably cursing in his beer. And the little midget from Newsday. They tried to bury Marbury.
Go Steph!

The media played a part in his downfall??
He ate Vaseline… cried to Lean on Me… Got caught smoking herb and later said, “I smoke marijuana, yep… you saw me,” “I’m a free-agent. I’m not under contract… I smoke weed occasionally… I’m not drivin… I’m following the rules.” I used to be a HUGE fan of his. He lost his mind.
@smokez4days
Barkley and Robinson made their teams better. The difference between the rest of the guys you named and Marbury is that Marbury is a point guard. It’s his job to get his teammates shots and make them better. If he was a 2-guard then it’s a different story.
“If you’re a true baller, you’ll love this”???
Really?? Why? Bcuz he’s having fun. Good for him. Reality is he’ll never play in the NBA again because his mind is clouded. It’s not my fault. Not your fault. Not D’Antoni’s fault either. After Marbury’s webcast, Doc Rivers was asked if he thought the vid will keep Marbury out of the league… he replied, “It certainly didn’t help him.” In other words, it’s his own fault he ain’t in the NBA anymore. That what happens when an athlete is surrounded by a bunch of yes-men. We’ve seen it too many times. See: Lenny Cooke.

Is the N.B.A. a better place with or w/o Lenny Cooke,Dajuan Wagner,A.I.,Steph Marbury? Seriously. Think about that talent. They’re all legitimate starters right now currently. The right coach & system it would work. I’d rather pay to see them than most nice guys bums today. The league’s image is intact & perfect. The game play still sucks though. Steph should have stayed with Boston though. They could have & needed him this year. He looked good in spurts last year. The league turns their back on you if things aren’t done their way.

Sure, I like pure pointguards who run an offense too, but hey, if your PG can create for himself and for others, what’s to dislike?
