We Reminisce: No. 15 Hampton Upsets No. 2 Iowa State
As you’re surely glued to you T.V. watching No. 2 Villanova take on No. 15 Robert Morris in OT, I figured I’d pull up the footage from the last time a 15-seed defeated a 2-seed in the NCAA tournament. The year was 2001, and it was 15-seed Hampton who defeated 2-seed Iowa State, 58-57, after Jamaal Tinsley missed the winning lay-up.. Check it out.

I feel really bad for Robert Morris. This truly was one of those occasions when I team only “lost on the scoreboard.” On the brightside, their coach need only play the footage from this game during his recruiting pitch.

No, I was right..Damn, that last play was not good. You have to give the ball to the guy and tell him ‘You’ll shoot, it doesn’t matter if it goes in or not, but you have to be confident, trust you are capable of taking that shot’..Sometimes you can’t just think that much…
