Dunk of the Year? Marcus Thornton smashes on Crash Wallace
Overall, Gerald Wallace had to consider Wednesday a good night. By beating the Hornets, his Bobcats clinched the franchise’s first-ever playoff appearance, and Wallace was able to rest his legs (and his sore shoulder) a little in the process. But then there was this…

Nice but not a dunk of the year candidate. How come this kid isn’t getting at least a mention for rookie of the year?

oh come on, he pushed him down

Come on, Crash was obviously late. I’m sure you’ll be posting Jordan Crawford’s dunk on LeBron as another “dunk of the year candidate”.

Chitown 23/33 says:
@ Spliff
Because he isn’t even the best rookie on his team. But he’s a great pickup for them so late in the first round. The kid can really score, as soon as they get Mo Pete and the ghost of Peja off the salary cap maybe they can be contenders again.

Clearly you forgot about Wade destroying Sideshow Bob earlier this season. This dunk isn’t even close.

blah blah blah, pushed his ass down…whatever. he got SMASHED on. there’s always gonna be contact on a dunk, regardless if you initiate it or receive it. he got banged on. dirty-like.

@6
Please understand that in order to win DPOY, you have to play defense and put yourself in situations to get dunked on! See Alonzo Mouring…

I had a great view of that from my seats. Buckets said after the game that was his 2nd best dunk of the year– he had one against the Grizzlies that was his #1. I don’t remember which one that was. I hate to disagree with my favorite rookie, but…

Way to defend Cap’n Jack – he did everything but give the Thornton a lift up. It’s not as if he was tight on him and Thornton sneaked by, he just let him go baseline without putting a finger on him

But not even close to Corey Brewer on Fisher.

Marcus clearly pushed off. I think Gerald would’ve blocked that had he not got the pushoff.

Oh jeebus. What did ya’ll expect Thornton to do with Crash jumping to block… Hug him?
Crash got dunked on. Plain and simple. No ref in his right mind would call a foul on that. It’s called contact… it happens when your close to the rim like that.

Amar’e’s soul-destroyer on Tolliver was nastier, Tolliver sized him up but Amar’e just went higher and harder. Plus it basically swung the game in favour of the Suns for the W
That and D-Wade’s ownership of Varejo are the 1 & 2 of the year, couldn’t choose between them
