We Reminisce: Mitch Richmond
Just because. A couple years ago I broke down Mitch Richmond‘s Hall of Fame chances and deemed him out, but that doesn’t mean The Rock wasn’t one of the nastiest scorers of his era. Definitely one of the most underrated players. Of today’s NBA guards, who do you think has a game most similar to Richmond?

I’m not sure that there’s anybody in the NBA today that’s close to having Mitch’s game. He was an elite scorer and defender. Everytime I read about underrated NBAers back in the day, Mitch’s name came up and his D was as talked about as his offense.

eirc gordon, period… the love for shooting 3′s, the ability to take it strong to the hoop, the strength, the decent handle…

OJ Mayo is closest. Mitch could score, but to me he was not so valueable, he barely ever seemed to give up the ball, and had way too few assists for a guard in high-octane offenses.

I’m leaning toward Atom’s Paul Pierce call. I liked the Rock much better than Pierce though.
