Ron Artest Responds To His NBA All-Defensive Team Snub
After the NBA All-Defensive Team was announced the other day, I wrote something on how the League is no longer afraid of Ron Artest. And in most of the comments, people agreed that he shouldn’t have been there. Yesterday, Artest talked to the Los Angeles Times and gave his response.
What do you think? Should Artest have made the NBA All-Defensive Team? Should players still be afraid of him on the court?

This is what he got for being a good soldier, accepting his role, getting a pay cut, behaving himself when he was somewhat expected to disrupt the winning chemistry in LA?
Should have at least been on the 2nd team. What an insult. Deserved it more than Valgina.

Yet another reason Ron-Ron is one of my favorite players…doesn’t care about individual awards…didn’t come to LA to get on the All-Defensive team.

Dag that was messed up. For the rest of the playoffs, he should lock cats DOWN. No buckets.

Mike says:
-Players should vote 4 all defensive teams after all THEY are the ones who get defended not the coaches
-Varejo making it is a joke all he does is flop
-LBJ is NOT a good defender he gets blocks from BEHIND because of he’s very athletic but doesn’t shut anybody down 1 on 1

And it’s not that the league is “no longer afraid of Ron-Ron”, it’s that the league is still MAD at Ron-Ron. That’s why he got snubbed.

Varejo is much more deserving then LeBron. Vareja is one of the best hedgers in pick and roll sitiatuons and he is a quality low post defender, draws a ton of charges some which are flops but still!
Lebron could develop into a good 1on1 defender, he has the tools, but i dont think Mike Brown has it in him to really challenge Lebron on the defensive end.
Ron should’ve had Lebrons spot. Good call on letting the players vote. Pretty sure Durant would agree

Dean says:
He didn’t deserve it. His D wasn’t at an all D level during the season. He’s only begun to show it during the playoffs. “My efforts been great” = I know my D wasn’t great during the season.
That being said, the reason the Lakers got him was to play all-league D during the playoffs. So lets see if he brings it.
