Bruce says:
LA — I’ll play 2nd fiddle to Kobe and eventually take over!

Lakers Nation says:
Bruce – I agree . . suck it up for 3 years . . get 3 rings and then take over the team for 5 more . . then you might have a chance to tie Kobe’s Ring Count!

Chi-Town – premier point guard and center…pick up a few more pieces and walla’
No way would I go to LA unless it’s the Clippers and they change their name and change the uniforms
Skip Kobe, that last title was fabricated….6 for 24 are you kidding me? His best game they lost (Game 5) and he’s treated like he’s Jordan? Get the heck out of here!

The Black Cartman says:
I’d be a man and stay in Cleveland. He would be a chump to leave, the all time greats stay where they got drafted and win big. Otherwise you’re just another Shaq. He wants to be Jordan.

I kinda of agree but, the thing is… Shaq IS an all time great. I know he’s weird and goofy and never really developed a true competitive streak as some other HOFs, but he’s totally an all time great. I think LeBron is aiming at the top, but he could do worse than have Shaq’s career…

The Black Cartman says:
I wouldn’t dispute Shaq’s numbers or championships, but he is turning into Brett Farve at the end of his Career. A true champion gets it done at home.

He shouldn’t stay in Cleveland. He is not as bad off as Kevin Garnett was but Cleveland wasn’t able to sign any free agents over the years. All the players were either drafted or traded for. Ray Allen turned them down. Michael Redd. Carlos Boozer didn’t want to wait a year and fled to Utah. I mean how bad must the players think of Cleveland to do that. Lebron grew up there so wanted to be the hero who brought a championship because I think he does care about being a good guy somewhat.
Top notch players in their prime don’t go to smaller markets or generally much colder cities. Shaq left Orlando to go to LA. Grant Hill and TMac left Detroit and Toronto for Orlando. I think Toronto is a nicer city but it has cold winters and you have the additional Canadian tax rate versus the no state income tax of Florida. Ditto for Detroit but less desirable than Toronto to live in. When’s the last time someone went to a less desirable city? Duncan stayed but he had won a ring and personally San Antonio is as nice a place as Orlando with the same no state income tax and warmer weather. Would any of you guys want to live in Cleveland if you weren’t from there? Lebron’s a human being too.
If anyone can remember the last time a free agent in his prime(before 29) that doesn’t fall into the argument let me know just for curiosity sake. I think KG doesn’t qualify because he never got to the point of being a free agent as he signed extensions.
