In addition to John Wall, Derrick Favors and Wesley Johnson showing off their kicks yesterday, there were a few other guys with noteworthy footwear. Next up, Memphis Grizzlies guard Greivis Vasquez. After wearing Under Armour last year at Maryland, he decided to stick with ‘em. Check out his player exclusive model of the Under Armour Prototype BB in greater detail after the jump. Read More »
Xavier Henry and Greivis Vasquez were both at the NBA Rookie Photo Shoot yesterday wearing their blue Memphis jerseys with their name and number on it, but will the two currently unsigned rookies be rocking those when the season starts? Read More »
Things got kind of crazy yesterday up at the NBA Rookie Photo Shoot. So in addition to impromptu dunk contests and Hassan Whiteside juggling, DeMarcus Cousins and Lance Stephenson hopped on the 1s and 2s to scratch with Jay-Z‘s DJ Neil Armstrong. While Cousins still has some work to do, Lance wasn’t half bad.
Well, more like they made it into a rap video. Unfortunately, though, the clip by Seattle crew Cali & Cavalli is drawing controversy for B-Roy and Crawford — two of the NBA’s genuine good guys — because of the marijuana images involved. In a common-sense world people would understand that just because athletes know weed smokers doesn’t mean they are weed smokers, but that’s not how we work. B-Roy has issued a public apology, which you can read after the jump.
If this NBA offseason taught you anything, it was that — once again — most of the media doesn’t know sh*t. Or to turn Bernie Mac‘s phrase, they don’t know sh*t until sh*t happens … Take the Carmelo Anthony situation. With every day that ‘Melo doesn’t sign his extension offer from the Nuggets, more scenarios are spun of where he’ll end up next, and more reports come out that are presented as near fact when it’s really just guessing. If the NBA worked like the U.S. Government, they would have sent paratroopers into Los Angeles decades ago and removed Clippers owner Donald Sterling from his position of power.
Unfortunately (for Clippers fans), the much-criticized and generally awful Sterling won’t be going anywhere until he decides to sell the team, or has the organization ripped from his cold, dead hands. Read More »
As cryptically suggestive as he may have tried to be in a Twitter post last night — “Funny how people come up with their own analysis of a situation. I tell you boy … Unbelievable” — Carmelo Anthony can’t blame the public and the media for spinning our own theories on his future plans.
This much we all know: The Denver Nuggets have extended ‘Melo a three-year, $65 million contract extension offer, and ‘Melo has yet to sign it. If I had to bet on it, I’d say he’s at least leaning heavily toward leaving. Read More »
