Remember when we actually bought CD’s (or tapes) and album release dates were a really big deal? For basketball fans, that level of excitement has been replaced by two things: NCAA Selection Sunday, and the release of the new NBA schedule. Knowing everybody was hyped to see when and where LeBron, D-Wade and Bosh make their official debut, plus the first Lakers/Heat matchup, the NBA gave us a little taste of the schedule yesterday before the full version is released next week … Read More »

I guess we can say the Boston Celtics are going all in and embracing their role as the old-timers of the NBA. This afternoon, A. Sherrod Blakely of Comcast SportsNet New England tweeted that Boston is extremely close to signing Shaquille O’Neal. While it hasn’t been confirmed yet, the speculation about matching the Big Aristotle with the Big Green was growing daily. Read More »
“This is it.” Whether or not Brett Favre actually means those words is one thing, but either way, the Minnesota Vikings, much of the NFL and many football fans across the country have been sucking furiously on the nipple of the Ol’ Gunslinger for the past few summers. When I posted this on Twitter, someone hit me back and asked the following question: Who’s winning: Bing or Lifelock? At the time, I didn’t think much of it, but then it hit me – it’s only a matter of time before jersey sponsorships make their way to the NBA. And after yesterday, that day is closer than ever before. Unfortunately Fields never made it to the big-time, and unfortunately there are way more Ronnie Fields’ out there than Rafer Alstons.
