Unlike some guys that are on the covers of video games, Kevin Durant has been an integral part of the new NBA Elite 11. And while the guys at EA Sports may believe that he simply “contributed” to creation of the game, KD seems to think that it’s all him. Check out the two exclusive videos (one kind of funny, and the other kind of serious) below and let us know what you think.
A couple of nights ago, my Dad was talking about the upcoming FIBA World Basketball Championship and Team USA when he asked me, for like the fourth time this summer, “So where are all the superstar guys?”
After running down, again, the list of who was hurt (Kobe, CP, D-Will), who was a free agent (LeBron, D-Wade, Bosh, Boozer), and who just didn’t want to do it (Dwight, J-Kidd, ‘Melo), my Dad seemed confused.
“Wait … so this is the team?” Talking about the guys he saw squeak past Spain by one point on Sunday. “They don’t have none of the superstars!” Read More »
Well it looks like you won’t need a DeLorean to possibly get your hands on the Nike Air Mag automatic lacing system that Michael J. Fox rocked in Back to the Future. According to the World Intellectual Property Organization’s website, it seems like Tinker Hatfield and the staff in Nike’s Innovation Kitchen are hard at work attempting to bring this once unheard of idea to the sneaker masses. Word on the web is that it’s finally official. Tiger Woods and his wife, Elin, are officially finalizing their divorce. Not surprising considering the entire history of this fiasco, but Tiger just punched his ticket into the Emancipated Athletes Club. Sooner or later, you’ll probably see a photo hit the web of Shaq, D-Wade and Tiger popping champagne and smoking Cuban cigars in a VIP section somewhere, celebrating their recent freedoms. Some divorces are relatively painless, some are messy, and they happen all the time. Here are the five most memorable NBA divorces: Read More »
There’s a good chance we won’t know what really happened between Rajon Rondo and the USA Basketball decision-makers until during the NBA season; the next time Rondo goes head-to-head with Derrick Rose, Russell Westbrook, Chauncey Billups or Stephen Curry. Soon after Rondo talked to reporters as if he thought he might be cut from the World Championship roster, it was announced that Rondo pulled himself out of consideration due to the always-mysterious “family matters.” … Before the Spain game, everything seemed cool. After years of consistently bringing out the best dunkers in the world, Midnight Madness is fast getting a reputation as one of the best dunk contests out there. Last year, Guy Dupuy broke out a crazy dunk that went viral. This weekend past weekend, he was back trying to defend his back-to-back-to-back titles, but it was Justin “Jus Fly” Darlington who stole the show. Throwing down some absolute craziness, including a cartwheel to through-the-legs dunk and a through-the-legs dunk over a guy who was 6-10, “Jus Fly” showed you how he got his name.
Life’s not about the destination; it’s the journey that’s important. It’s something that I think I’ve heard from every clichéd graduation speaker and encouraging family friend in my life. It’s also a phrase that most of us casually toss aside. But for Carlos Boozer, it’s something that he’s taken an exception to embracing in his own basketball journey. And his path has been one of success just as much as trial and error. Read More »
In a surprise move, Rajon Rondo made it easy for Coach K and Jerry Colangelo by pulling himself out of consideration for Team USA’s final roster going into the FIBA World Championship.
Rondo, along with Danny Granger, logged a DNP-CD in Sunday’s exhibition against Spain, which Coach K implied only happened because he wanted to give on-the-bubble guards Stephen Curry, Russell Westbrook and Eric Gordon a chance to display what they could do. Read More »
That’s all I needed to hear when Under Armour introduced their brand new basketball footwear collection in the penthouse of the Cooper Square Hotel in New York City last week. With the brand’s body and soul, Brandon Jennings, in the house to showcase the new kicks, all of his on-court accolades and success came down to one moment of truth: “All we gotta do now is sell shoes.” But once you check them out, you’ll realize that they shouldn’t have any problem doing that.
