We Reminisce: Michael Jordan drops 59 on Detroit’s “Bad Boys”
Contrary to legend, the Detroit Pistons weren’t always a thorn in Michael Jordan‘s side. In the first 19 matchups between Young Mike’s Bulls and Isiah‘s Pistons, MJ averaged 36 points per game. That included a 61-point game in ’87, and this 59-point special in ’88. Enter the “Jordan Rules,” which lead to Mike motivating himself to seek and destroy Detroit, and six championships later we have The G.O.A.T. You could say it all started here.

Jordan single handledly changed the game of basketball. He is the most competitive basketball player in the history of basketball. His will win to win surpasses anyone who he competed against. His is the Goat and it was never questioned win he played and it shouldn’t be questioned now. He has never lost a final appearance and he also played both ends of the court his whole career. His is the GOAT and that is enough said!!!!!!!!!men lie women lie but numbers don’t!!!!

@John: totally agree man
Guys like Kobe or Lebron are absolutely amazing ball players in their own respect, but Jordan just had a kind of natural spectacular aura about him. He made the game look so damn simple because of the level of skill and IQ he had. The artistry of some of the passes and plays he made could simply never be replicated by any of these guys playing today. There was something largely intrinsic to his game that made him special. Something that had to be felt and experienced, not explained through numbers and stats. Something I can only hope to see again in my lifetime.

common sense says:
Jordan redefined the sport of Bball, I think the modern players are equally as good as MJ with their skillset and will to win, D-Wade, Kobe, Bron and soon to be Durant all posses Jordans drive, but they would not exist if Jordan did not blaze the trail with his style of play. This fusion of athletic ability combined with technical excellence and mental toughness was not seen on this level before MJ. None of the teams could stop Mj because he was the early prototype. Fast forward to todays day and age, we have numerous MJs but how can you surpass the original when you are a mere copy? be it an updated version.
The only person that can surpass Jordan is the second coming of Jehova, Christ himself donning a Raptors jersey and leading Toronto to a ‘four peat’. Except for that the whole comparisons to Jordan are pointless and mute.
